Fantastic and so happy that you've grabbed more MusicMatters Jazz records :-D to me it's the best quality and reassuring to buy of the BlueNotes. :-)
Very happy to see you again Paul!
best regards,
Ian.
Nice shout outs! I like those channels as well. Mine have been 60/40 for me for this years releases. My favorite track from the new VMP release was operator. I thought that was a good track. Nice to see a more involved video showing the VMP materials from you. Only a few channels do so. What do you think of next month's release they announced?
ОтветитьIsn't breakbot also on Ed banger records?
ОтветитьNice jazz pickups. I was really into Ed banger stuff back when I had a couple dj residencies. Always fun music. Take care
ОтветитьHey Paul, I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore when I discover that our musical tastes parallel each other closely. I lost interest in adele pretty quickly. although she has a unique voice,......I tired of it pretty quickly as her songs all started to sound the same to me. Concerning MM....I've heard a variety of rumours including that they are just taking a break for a few months to they are stopping new releases all together to they are currently working on new release but will release them all together towards the end of the year........who knows which is true. I do have an insider in the know so I will contact him and see what he knows.
ОтветитьGood to see you back, Paul. Love that Horace Silver. Also, you did a vid a while back and showed "The Wanderings of the Avener." I got a copy and I have been spinning the crap out of it, so thanks for the great rec! -Stavros
ОтветитьI enjoyed your review. I listened again last night, I like it the more I hear it.
Ответитьcool selection of artists, very interesting. i also try to get as many music matters pressings as possible. but the distribution here in europe - or at least in germany - is nearly completly down. had to get my latest copy directly from the label. the shipping costs kill me. a 33rpm costs me over 60 euros! thats a pitty... but at least i can watch you showing them and talk about it!
ОтветитьYou are not only the go-to Music Matters guy but the music you show definitely matters. Great to see you again today Paul. I woke up with you this morning and now spending time with you 'in the evening' of the same day. Did I get enough of you yet today? Never happen.
Loved seeing the Wayne Shorter. I have a few of his albums including The Dreamer on my ever growing want list. I actually ordered a copy of 'Speak No Evil' a few days ago. VC synchronicity is in high gear once again. I will get 'JuJu' somewhere down the line. ➽ Dig the Horace Silver 'Village Gate' too. I went by that club quit a few times. It was on Bleecker if I remember right and Bleecher had the best record shops at one time.
Outstanding update again Paul. Have a nice weekend~
Rob/Boston
I love night dreamer. What a lineup. Love the glossy cover. Sexy looking.
ОтветитьLooks like a really nice record store. Looks like a good place for some needlegroove apparel. I have that Horace album. I think I have a second press too. Will have to double check tomorrow. Can't remember. Love it. And that free slave. Big want.
ОтветитьFilthy mcnasty is my joint. And you are so right about the intro. So good.
ОтветитьI haven't heard about Mr Oizo since his hit "Flatbeat", 15 or 16 years ago. I thought that song was one of the most irritating songs that year. That new song sounded better.
WOW, getting that Horace Silver livealbum for free was really generous! I like Horace Silver a lot, great pianist! Take care!
Thank for the MusicMatter recommendation. I'm still on the fence of going for OG or reissues. Especially as some reissues are only so so. I did watch the mastering interview. These guys have such a big influence on the end result. I almost feel the music from the original needs to be changed a little to sound great on vinyl. He clearly loves his job. The Baron von Luxxury mixes are a great discovery. Do you know if they are released on vinyl? /Paul
ОтветитьHorace Silver - love it. Why did I not realize Baron Von Luxury was not a character like Auntie Vinyl and was a musician?
ОтветитьGreat editing. Another awesome and informative video. I bought the previously highly recommended Coltrane 45 rpm LPs. They haven't arrived yet, but looking forward to the listen. Just received Dylan's Nashville Skyline. One of the few BD recordings I did not already own. I think it might be one of my favorites, great sound too…Keep the videos coming Paul.
Ron
Paul , Thanks again mi amigo !! Jimmy .... [ Wish they would release " Bring it Home to Me " by Blue Mitchell on vinyl . I think it may be available on Heavenly Sweetness . But with the new up and coming reissues from Don Was , maybe I'll get lucky ]
ОтветитьPaul excellent Music Matters Wayne Shorter I have to get that one I've been trying to get more Music Matters releases that's true the price went up and are starting to be hard to find it luv the sound of the reissues top notch any album with Lee is a classic. I see you picked of Horace Silver Doing the Thing NY mono very cool that's the same pressing as mine is believe this is a first press when I looked it up on discogs awesome video Paul luv your channel man
ОтветитьThank you for sharing, lots of great pickups. I don't love the Lapsley album but its definitely not Adele like. I am excited for this months album as It is something I don't have on vinyl but a classic for me and its being issued in its entirety for the first time on vinyl by VMP.
ОтветитьYou might be surprised…for some reason several of my friends (who like Dylan) have special place in their heart for it. I got 148.
Ron
I NEED MORE MUSIC MATTERS!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHey, it's been 5 years since Ed released Total by SebastiAn. Amazing album. Do you have the vinyl version?
ОтветитьThose Wayne Shorter Albums are on my want list: Speak no evil, Night dreamer, and JUJU.
