If this rifle had been adopted early in the war by Germany the outcome of the war might have been different .

Went to the website but I don't see any in 7.92, only in .22 LR, 7.92 in semi auto should be more than legal right? Because man i'd love to own one, sure you have to have a smaller capacity magazine and it can't be full auto, but I just like 7.62 and 7.92 and the look of the StG

Finally, a real stg44 that has the legit 500 rounds per minute rate of fire (like the mp40) and not those weird American reconstructions that have the rate of fire of an Italian Breda light machinegun which are so annoying.

As the United States Army drove deep in
to Germany in early-1945, American soldiers
stole and appropriated objects on a large scale.
While GIs did take items when marching
through Allied countries, what occurred in
Germany throughout the final campaigns was
different and more extensive. Not only wa
s there souvenir hunting on the battlefield –
taking pistols, helmets, and fl
ags from German soldiers – bu
t also widespread looting of
civilian homes. Servicemen justified th
eir actions by claiming wartime necessity,
opportunities for profit, keepsakes, and reve
nge for Nazi atroc
ities. Drawing on
memoirs, journals, personal pape
rs, and interviews, this thesis seeks to divide American
soldiers’ stealing into two categ
ories, souvenir hunting and lo
oting, and to extrapolate the
four major reasons why GIs looted. Using arch
ival evidence, this wo
rk will also examine
the U.S. Army’s reaction to soldiers’ rapaci
ty, its policy-making proc
esses, and the civil-
military relationships in Europe throughout th
e dying days of World War II.

I absolutely love the stg44. I would love to own an original but sadly getting a class 3 automatic weapons license in the U.S. is Nigh on impossible. I don't know WHY people say the Ak 47 is an stg based/copy design. They are similar in appearance and cartridge and nothing else. The internals of the AK are much different than that of the stg44. Both are awesome rifles though.

You used the word "assault weapons", did you mean assault rifle? Because an assault rifle is a real thing unlike and a "assault weapons" witch is a word used by the media to describe big scary black with big magazines rifles! An assault weapon is a device used to assault someone so a toaster used to beat someone to death could fit under that definition!

Richardson - while I certainly give Mikhail Kalashnikov his props in designing his AK47, it is eerily similar in both design and function to this weapon. In fact it shoots pretty much the same as an AK... With the same amount of recoil.

Nice video! It seems to have a really manageable kick. Can you say it is similar to some modern assault rifle design in terms of recoil?

No, the SS had their own Camo-Uniforms in the so called "Platenmuster" or "Erbsenmuster" (Pea Dot Pattern)", which look different. The Camo-Sheme of this Smock is called "Splittertarn" (Splinter-Camo) or "Sumptarn" (Swamp-Camo) and was worn e. g. by Heer-Units. ;)
