yes..all of our great 80s movies were ripped off by those stupid cartoon shows. millennials who take credit for our genius.
ОтветитьThis was a Jerry Bruckheimer film, if that doesn't ring a bell, look up the other stuff he's produced. Fun Fact: the police captain in detroit was actually a real police captain in detroit at the time of the filming. they brought him in to train the actors and the director liked him so much they let him play the role.
ОтветитьYou must see Mission to Mars. It's one of the best movies ever made.
ОтветитьCop Land would be a great movie to react to and it has Sly in it.
ОтветитьBeverly Hills Cop 2 was also a huge hit. But 3 flopped badly.
ОтветитьDogs are barking
ОтветитьEddie Murphy definitely started as a stand up comedian. He had a very successful stint on Saturday Night Life. I remember a film of one of his stand up concerts called Eddie Murphy Raw. Everything was fair game to him.
ОтветитьThe music that keeps popping up I think is called "Axels Theme" Definitely written for this movie.
ОтветитьThis movie was low budget and nobody believed it was a good idea. Eddie Murphy proved it would work and it was a big hit. Which lead to the franchise and future success. ✌️
ОтветитьYes, Virginia, Gigli destroyed Martin Brest's career. This guy directed three of the biggest films of the 80s, Beverley Hills Cop, 48 Hours, and Midnight Run.
ОтветитьThis is a comedy drama, rather than an action film. That’s what makes it kind of unique. It has light and dark moments.
Ответитьthe pacing is messed up because most people think this is a comedy. its not, first and foremost it is actually quite a serious movie/thriller with murphy adding occasional humour. like you mentioned it could easily have been a straight thriller with a different lead. its only murphy that changes the tone of the film. sending a meal out as a distraction and then putting bananas blocking the car exhaust is a genuine method of losing a tail/disabling a car. its purely because its a comedian doing it that it seems humorous. think if it was stallone it wouldn't have seemed funny at all, but, nothing would have been/needed changed script wise. its very odd, because thats really an 80's thing. like leslie neilsen playing airplane and police squad completely straight for the most part.
ОтветитьYeah so , lil cocky know it all Asian kid with the nasty stringy hair and the worst looking tattoos doesn't know that there was actors from "in living color" Damon Wynes, and judge Reinhold,"fast times at ridgemont high".so stick to play dungeons and dragons and have shitty tattoos please!! 🖕
Ответитьthe director is great, he directed Midnight Run with Deniro. its great
ОтветитьAxel Foley = Axel F (song name)
Please do BHC 2 and 3 also
Axel is a fairly common name in Sweden, not as popular these days though.
ОтветитьI was in nineth grade when this came out classic eighties comedy I saw this with my dad we used to go to every Eddie Murphy together he passed last year
ОтветитьThat tune that keeps playing is call 'Axel F', named after Axel Foley, the character played by Eddie Murphy.
And you didn't even comment on the man who gave Axel the bananas (Played by Damon Wayans!)
You should react to The Golden Child, one of my favorite Eddie Murphy movies.
ОтветитьThe instrumental song is called Axel F so yes written for this movie. :)
ОтветитьIt was the 80's and Detroit I bet you nobody seen a penny from this movie
ОтветитьIt was originally written for Stallone so the tone changed wildly
ОтветитьThe second is the best one
Ответитьan epic movie and yes the music IS from this movie. It's started it. i'm confused by your pacing comments. i can't imagine what is wrong with the pacing?
ОтветитьYeah, Gigli pretty much killed Brest's career. Apparently it was taken away from him in the edit and for the re-shoots, so who knows what it would have been like if he maintained control. He did have a reputation for troubled productions before that but kept on delivering good films - up until then. Affleck actually thanked him when he got his Oscar for Argo saying he learned how to direct from him.
Ответить"I don't recognize any of these other names..." as fans of Aliens and Breaking Bad mutter under their breath...😄 Jonathan Banks (from Breaking Bad) was also in Eddie's first film.
ОтветитьSOME INFO on why it seems to be two different movies (at times). It was originally suppose to be a Sylvester Stallone movie but he said No, Eddie was a rising star at the time so they thought they would cash in. Wrote some jokes in and there it is.
ОтветитьFun Fact: Orinally Beverly Hills Cop was offered to Sylvester Stallone and he would have been Axle Folioni. But thankfully he turned it down.
ОтветитьJudge Reinhold also starred in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" with Sean Penn, Forrest Whitaker, Phoebe Cates, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. If you are interested in watching Eddie Murphy in a dramatic role, "Mr Church " is excellent.
ОтветитьI'm sure someone else probably said it, but the guy that killed Eddie's friend is Mike from Better Call Saul.
Ответитьif you're just out in public you can be recorded and no permissions are required. it's based on there being no expectations of privacy when you're out in public. so ladies, unless you're a voyer yourself be careful about what rooms rooms you're unclothed in when you're shades are open. it'd be perfectly legal for somebody to record you through the blinds out their window or even scarier is "they" can stand on the sidewalk in front of your house and take pictures and videos 24/7. creepy, but legal. idk why I went on that ridiculous run about peeping Tom's over one comment about "permission to record". sorry.
ОтветитьThe proposed Stallone version would have been pure action, no comedy. The director and producers didn't like Stallone's input, and hired Eddie Murphy.
ОтветитьThe supercop story was improvise. That’s why they was laughing.
ОтветитьEddie Murphy’s boss inspector Todd was a real Detroit police officer
ОтветитьYou need to see 48 hrs. Eddie's 1st action/comedy.
ОтветитьYeah you are the only one I found that are doing Forever! Suchba great show!
ОтветитьYou must add Brest's "Midnight Run" to your list. it also features John Aston (Taggart) co-starring with Robert Deniro and Charles Grodin.
ОтветитьThis was the highest grossing R rated movie of all time for like over a decade
ОтветитьYou know the modern movies are really bad when people struggle to identify Action Comedy...
ОтветитьTHing sis, this is a great movie, but 2 is an even better one. Avoid 3 at all costs.
ОтветитьBest part of both 1 and 2 is the interaction between Taggart and Rosewood.
ОтветитьI remember this being the first movie I saw with Ronny Cox as a good guy, which was weird because I'd seen him in a bunch of other stuff and he's always mean, evil or just a not very pleasant guy.
Then I learned he was known for goody two shoes boy scout characters until he did Robocop - which was even more weird. 😄
Lizzo ruined the banana in the tail pipe joke.
ОтветитьThere is alot of great behind the scenes and trivia about this movie. One is that the actor who played Victor Maitland Steven Berkoff hated "foul language" and didn't think it had any place in movies. Eddy Murphy on the other hand used "foul language" as his act. So there are certain sences in the movie where Eddy Murphy, would mumble "bad words" under his breath at Steven Berkoff to get a reaction out of him.
ОтветитьTo me this movie is the gold standard for how to blend comedy, action, and drama. A lot of people cite Lethal Weapon as the best buddy cop series, but this is my favorite
ОтветитьAxel's friend at the police department was Paul Reiser, who played Carter Burke in Aliens, and who has a recurring role on Stranger Things. His most famous role is probably co-starring in the sitcom Mad About You with Helen Hunt.
The guy who killed Axel's friend is Jonathon Banks, who today is best known for playing the hitman Mike on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
The Beverly Hills police lieutenant is Ronny Cox, who played Dick Jones in Robocop.
