Neal needs a tan.
ОтветитьYou were so taken by Phil singing while playing drums. Check out Clevon Little from The Band. Yes, the name of the group is, The Band. Story behind that you'll like.
ОтветитьIncreased miles per gallon, eh? ... D'OH!
ОтветитьSaturn five 🙂
ОтветитьBut Newton's Laws of Motion would also play a huge part correct? In vacuum, once you accelerate to X speed, you remain at that speed until acted upon by an internal force (in this case thrusters on the Command Module).... or would Newton's Laws be part of the equation?
ОтветитьFood for thought Qs:
What is the rate of weight loss(spent fuel) vs lift height in any given space payload launch?
What is the preferred launch location on earth for a space launch?
Will it be easier to launch from a mountain top(closer to orbit) vs at sea level?
Thanks
I like the idea of gas tanks in space, then it starts to remind me of Star Wars because like, Xwings and Tie fighters. Do you think it’d be feasible to have such small space ships if they only need enough fuel to get to the next station?
ОтветитьOr find a means of propulsion that is far more efficient.
ОтветитьDamn, Chuck and Tyson are a perfect combo
ОтветитьSo entertaining. So much learning. My face hurts from smiling
ОтветитьChuck Nice gave a great introduction to Integral calculus with his fuel for the fuel for the fuel ….. comment
ОтветитьIsn't that thing with fuel and weight called "catch 22" ?
ОтветитьI must get the best mileage because my gas tank is always on empty
Ответитьfuel to get the fuel to get the fuel to get my stuff.. to the moon
ОтветитьWe have nuclear submarine, so can we try and reuse similar technique for tickets?
ОтветитьBubbles are round and speed can be found, pop. Displacement formula.
ОтветитьFuel is a bubble that brings things that aren't bubbles where they want or can control to. Bubbles are perfect and any circle can do, but to handle that circle it takes aerodynamics, pointy the best. Shapes in space and their velocity. We could use a balloon to bring highest possible a spaceship and than, release it with the propulsion. A tube could float with a bunch of bubbles around to bring water or fuel or multiple fluids or gases to experiment in space.
ОтветитьI think about water towers!
ОтветитьEvery country need one Neil de gre Tyson for generate scientific interests among citizen.
ОтветитьIm sure by that math alone they had more than enough fuel to get back right ...right wink wink
ОтветитьYou missed the whole point of that Seinfeld joke. lol. All good. I❤
Ответитьso say it be cheaper have people live space all time. then would get to space. or build space elevator or train idea.
ОтветитьWhen I used to ride bikes I would always get up behind big vehicles like buses and trailer trucks, I would get warm and get excellent economy
ОтветитьLoved this amusing and light hearted chat. Surprised that, at no point, did you even see the need to show the aforementioned equation…
ОтветитьНациста фон Брауна вспомнил, а Циолковского нет. Хотя о чем я этож сейчас мейнстрим
ОтветитьHate this guy
ОтветитьFuel consumption when driving at a constant speed depends mostly on air resistance, and friction of the engine, transmission and tyres on the road. The car's mass has only a small part in it (it slightly increases friction, but not air resistance or engine friction, for instance). The mass comes into play, however, each time the car accelerates.
ОтветитьTo reduce the payload on return the astronauts left several objects on the moon, among which a beautiful Hasselblad camera. There's is now 6 of them on the moon 😭
ОтветитьYou both make a great team. Thank you for what you both do
ОтветитьTo me, the mathematical nature of the universe is not a proof for a simulation, but for the way how Science works. Science is about the prediction of the outcome of experiments. You can only predict things reliably you have a grasp on. And that means the things have to be fathomable, constructible and thus computable. Repeatable Prediction is always mathematical in essence. So in a certain way, Science is mathematical evolution. Only those theories survive and create offspring which can cope with the next wave of experiments you throw on them. And sometimes, you come up with theories, which are immensely adaptable and work in a wide range of enviroments. But you don't know that beforehand.
It's the same with Life. It has to adapt again and again to changing environments, and it evolves over time. And sometimes, it comes up with adaptions which prove to be viable over a very long time and in very different environments. Cells are really good at adapting to the environment, and so are internal sceletons or segmented body plans, which prove versatile over hundreds of millions of years.
Saying that the fact. that by now, we have some really good mathematical theories which even prove to be unexpectedly successful is a proof for a designed enviroment is the fallacy as the idea that the fact, that living specimen are extremely successful at surviving their enviroment is a proof that they have to be designed.
To me, the Simulation argument comes from the same source as Intelligent Design.
Useless Science for Useless people
ОтветитьImagine, After consuming all the fossil fuels of earth, we would finally discover the exotic utilities of petroleum than the dumb ways as fuels.
ОтветитьThe only candy bars available at those "space minimarts" will be Milkyway or Mars"...😂😂 maybe some cotton candy for the clouds on earth.😊
ОтветитьThis whole episode is wrong. The rocket equation says the fuel is linearly proportional to payload. The exponential dependence is not on payload mass but rather on delta-v.
ОтветитьThis guy thinks he’s a god
ОтветитьHe should explain why he drvgged & graped a woman in college more than a fake equation written by a Russian crank.
Ответить“I didn’t feel safe doing that but it was for science” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😭
ОтветитьMars Bar
ОтветитьSo, you got your car up to 100 MPH. Did you calculate how much you affected the truck's gas mileage at that point, I'm thinking it went down at least a little bit.
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьThe rocket equation is freshman physics. And Tyson is giving a completely wrong explanation. How did he get past Physics 101?
ОтветитьAnd all that money spent on moon landings bettered society by nothing. We gained nothing. People are not better.
ОтветитьThe questions that Niel asked about the nature of God, have been asked before in a poem called "Design", by Robert Frost.
The only answer ever given is
Faith.
Believe in something
when there is nothing to support it.
Just to mention this,
Faith plays a hand in Astronomy
The axiom of Astronomy
"Without evidence to the contrary,
the laws of physics are the same everywhere in the Universe."
But
we have very little evidence.
The wet mass (mass of fuel) is NOT exponentially dependent on the dry mass. The rocket equation clearly states that there is a linear dependence between the two. Wet mass does depend exponentially on the change in speed of the rocket.
ОтветитьThe rocket equation equals the missile equation..
The real Truman show was about a usa dictator who turned thousands of people to ash ...
His mad scientist was Oppenheimer!!
Oppenheimer rocket equation to missile equation..
Instead of atomic rocket fuel ,
Made atomic missile blast ..
The Truman show was about a psychopath dictator and his mad scientist who turned thousands of humans to ash !!!
Media’s dictatorship....
Democracy is a delusion created by media’s and republicans...in a usa republic!!!
this guy is a woke clown, not a scientist.
ОтветитьBest duo ever! Catching up on the episodes.
