It's funny that I was ignorant of spells 7 through 3 but regularly use 10 through 8, 2 and 1
ОтветитьAnother use of Telekinesis is if you use it on your own party member it will always go off so if someone (Gale smh) is getting jumped on and will die before it loops back to his turn you can instantly reposition him across the map
ОтветитьFor the first time in my life i watched a guide like this and realized i discovered some of these on my own. Hunger of hadar is the only way to go.
Ответитьthis was quite informative thank you.
ОтветитьAbusing most of these just make an already easy game into a baby game, even on tactician. Using many difficulty mods you can still have easy time if you play properly (im talking x2 hp, extra ac, extra saving thows etc)
ОтветитьEither I'm a special snowflake or none of this spells are "underrated". 1) Minor illusion is one of the best spells I've used in 3 runs. It works as a Black Hole and pulls foes together immediately, which in certain circumstances can be a start and an end to a whole fight immediately. I'd recommend using it with rogue (get an arcane trickster for that, at least multiclass) since rogues can sneak up to enemies and bring grenades, special arrows or just some nasty consumables that can do a massive damage.
2) Aid is actually really nice and helpful, but the problem with it is that it doesn't really shine on builds that aren't centered around summons. If you don't have a summoning game Aid just feels like a waste of spell point. Otherwise — great spell.
3) Longstrider could be considered underrated only in long range centered builds, cause if in any battle you just stand and shoot — you don't need it. However, any party with at least two full melee characters should definitely use it after every long rest.
4) Telekinesis is certainly turbo powerful, but the reason why it could seem underrated is it's level. It's level 5 so you don't get it early at all and it just misses most of the great fights in the game. Still one of the most devastating spells in the game, that can create a total mess.
5) Tasha's Hideous Laughter is a piece of terror. Any enemy with low wisdom is doomed to be stunned until the end of fight. However, notice that enemy might wash it off any moment, so the effect is not as consistent as you would like it to be and also it can't hit few targets (unless you're a sorcerer).
6) Blindness is also a perfect option for a rogue, but please choose the target for it wisely. Blindness might not work on targets with high constitution, so it is better to use it on some foes in the back row
7) Big Burning Balls or whatever this thing is called is not really useful on itself, but really starts to shine in summon builds, especially with other fire summons. Few main goals for this particular minion: to tank, to block some spaces and to deal passive damage with it's aura. It is just perfect on some tight arenas.
8) Globe of Invulnerability certainly is an ultimate option against many threats, but I beg you — don't make it a general strategy. The best way to use a globe is to cast it right before some devastating massive damage, that (you know for sure) you can't avoid. This also includes the damage YOU yourself can deal. Think about it.
9) I can't understand how Sanctuary could end up in this list. It's probably the most powerful spell in the game, considering the fact that it's level 1. I don't know what to say. Just use it and you'll get it immediately
10) Hunger of Hadar is great spell, but you should keep in mind a few things — first, you should always play it in combination with something, either a different terrain control or another heavy AOE damage spell. Second, keep your melee characters (if you have them) close to the edge of spell range, but don't let them go in it, this way you can keep foes in place and punish them for any attempt of escape. Overall — Hunger might be one of the best end game spells in BG3. Whoever underrates this — doesn't know what he's talking about
I just love Aid + heroes feast used it every long rest in the late game
Globe also saved the party a few times especially at boss battles
Hunger of Haydar reminds me of the game we played where we managed to kill the big bad by using a con draining poison bomb we managed to disarm and capture from an earlier quest by simply shoving him back into the gas cloud over and over again til his con drained to 0 😂
ОтветитьHoly shit I was not prepared to see you send that dude cartwheeling into the water with telekinesis, my sides
ОтветитьI literally cannot play without longstrider, its like guidance.
ОтветитьConsider this a petition for Everard's Tentacles to be no 11. Similar to HoH, without the Darkness effect but enemies have a much harder time getting out of it. Was able to kill off all the Shadow-cursed Harpers with ease.
ОтветитьTasha is terrible, the fact its concentration and low chance to hit is horrible.
ОтветитьDont forget to throw grease or cast grease near flaming sphere
ОтветитьI was hyped after playing this game for years seeing someone who may have found some interesting mechanics behind underused spells I may have not ever looked at before.
I was disappointed to see a list of spells I use in almost all my playthroughs (with the exception of GoI) Since Globe is a higher level spell slot I would rather not waste it, you can achieve a similar result with the level two spell: Darkness, since you can creep in and out of the darkness while abusing the border and having perma adv and disadv on enemies.
Alas, I imagine this video will help lots of newer players, but I do not think these spells are underrated at all.
Sigh. I'm so bad at this game.
ОтветитьThe simple reason people don't use OP spells all the time: most people just want to have fun and immerse themselves in the flavor of the game instead of trying to min-max everything.
ОтветитьPeople don't use Aid? Bad players...
ОтветитьMy problem with spells like tashas h.l. is that its concentration.. and there are just better usages than a single tsrget stun imo
ОтветитьHuh? What are you saying?
