The GOOD & BAD With the All-New 2021 Toyota Venza

I have had my cloud gray Limited one week.
1. People pull over and are constantly saying wow. Love it.
2. The other day, two Lexus NX 300 H were parked directly behind me. Looked identical except for the badging. I suspect the new NX will be very similar.
3. The 12.3 screen gets really dusty, very quickly.
4. The panoramic sunroof is nice for anyone in the back seat, not so much for those in the front seat.
5. Once you are an owner, it’s pretty easy to become familiar with the infotainment center. It really is sharp looking. All the reviewers that criticize it don’t have time to read the manuals.
6. The 19 inch tires on those sharp wheels scream out, I’m an expensive car.

Question. My first hybrid. I’d like a short video showing the different colored arrows going in and out of the battery, with an explanation what they are telling you. I know the green arrow going in to the battery is good.

I just got mine today and I loved it from the first moment! The price it’s worth for the Toyota quality. It’s pretty economic (I have to drive 900/1000 miles every weeks), it’s delicate, has so fine and modern lines but super classy at the same time. I never had hybrid vehicle before but to drive one for me it’s more a like than dislike 😉

You keep comparing the Venza to the RAV4 but many see more similarity for the Venza with the Lexus products. So when you spin it that way you see big value. As for the "touch" controls - I AGREE. I wish all car manufacturers would get away from this. People want KNOBS and BUTTONS. the touch controls SUCK and just another very expensive cluster to go bad and cost an arm and leg to replace. As for push button starting... do not get me going. It will NEVER be preferred over good old fashioned turning the key. The reasons are numerous including safety, security, cost and just about everything.

Let's dissect the dislikes:
1) Only available as hybrid: go order an internal combustion Tesla - let me know how that works out for you.
2) All touch controls: I especially like the tuning and volume knobs on my smart phone... REALLY?
3) Eh... never mind...

I'm going to be the black sheep here and say that this was a huuuuuge downgrade from the original venza. The first gen venza has more interior room in all aspects, from cargo to leg room. It had a bigger rear window and hatch, which allowed for the use of a simple rear view mirror (which won't have an electronic failure in 10 years like these new digital ones). Also in the cargo area the load deck is higher by a solid 6" to 8" on the new venza making it harder to load things into the car. Honestly overall they pretty much murdered the cargo space. And to top it all off, all trim options on the first gen came with tactile climate controls which allow you to adjust the temp without taking your eyes off the road and endangering yourself and others.

Oh and the rear end is ugly

Looks luxurious, but the fact that it has a CVT is annoying 🙄

We test drove one today and it was sweet,, signed the papers to pick it up in two weeks!

They boast a big 12.3 inch infotainment screen, but in reality, the navigation screen can only display on about two-thirds of the screen. NOT the entire screen! That is pitiful.

I think you are a little to Critical about the Venza I love my 2021 Venza its a Toyota they make great cars period .

I work with these daily and they did a really good job with the Venza, compared to its previous model this blew me away. I really like the Hybrid Feature, its the direction automakers are going. The interior is really nice as well as the outside. And Toyota makes the best Hybrids on the market period

I agree with the video 100%, i which it has a volume bottton too. It is a very nice car, I do like my Venza.

pretty loud road and engine noise, especially when doing an acceleration. the JBL sound system is not good. the bass is too thin. compare to the Mazda CX5 Bose premium sound system it is nothing.

Touch sensitive buttons are very inconvenient for someone in the driving seat

I’d rather have gloss black center console than soft touch center console. Easier to clean a hard surface after a drink splatter

I woud prefer a volume knob for the audio but you get use to it. I would never have bought a RAV because it's ugly.

i hate piano black, i have 2021 corolla se and it has this piano black finishing. The main problem it gets scratches very easily no matter how much you take care of it.

I just bought a limited Venza. I think your don't likes are nit picking. What I like on my limited venza are the following. I love the seats,, I love the odometer on the window, I love the huge infotainment, I love the overall smooth drive, I love that the driver interior door handle is normal where as the RAV 4 handle is not comfortable and you have to stretch so far to close the dam door. I love that the features are modern, I love that it looks nice and looks luxury. I love the 360 camera. I love that it is Hybrid. Here what I don't like and it is not a knock on the car, the markup price is high, I don't like the start button on the middle of the console, I don't like that the trip sensor is where the start botton should be. I don't like that the trunk is smaller. I guess a luxary car is for the looks, I don't like that my limited didn't have a moonroof but that option was not available. I take what I can get. There is more likes than don't like. I trade in a 2021 RAV 4 XLE hybrid for this. I lost money but I feel happy on what I got. the RAV 4 just have too many cons, some are the interior door handle, the small infotainmet screen, the old looking center console. the dim interior light that I could not see. The windows are small, seats uncomforable. I have back aches after long drive. small moon roof. The price is crazy expensive. I rather spend a little more on the venza and have all the nice features. Forgot to mention on the rav 4 it feels cheap. The doors are not made of metal. I can't stick a car magnet.

They hybrid drivetrain fits this car perfectly. It has plenty pep.
It’s only missing a volume knob, and lumbar and height control for the passenger seat, and grocery bag hooks. The quality of the car is very Lexus-like in the Limited trim.

Which is better Between RAV4 and Venza?

Your first con is that you can only get it as hybrid and FWD. Since the toyota hybrid is a good one, and AWD is thrown in for free, it has my full approval and is not a con for me.

I agree Toyota should of made options on the Venza whether awd or fwd and fuel vehicle or hybrid. I really wanted to purchase this car but disappointed it only was in hybrid. To toyota STOP FORCING CUSTOMERS TO BY HYBRID SOME OF US STILL WANNA DRIVE FUEL VEHICLES!!!! I just had to let that out Hahalol because toyota disappointed me on hybrid Venza I ended up buying a luxury sport crossover that out does the Rav4 and crossover Corolla. My luxury car came with discount rebates and spare tire and the infontainement system was in the dash I just loved it! And it’s a sport trim and smaller engine to save me money on fuel economy. Toyota lost me as a customer so they better make new Venzas with fuel?!?!!!!

There is so much focus on things this model is missing..but my comments is just on storage compared to Rav 4. That's why we have options. Not everyone wants all that storage 😒..some people use their cars just for normal driving 🙄. If i want that amount of space and it's a deal breaker then opt for another model. We can't have everything we want in every car or in everything. If that was the case there would be no variety and pretty boring market. We are all different and have different tastes which makes life and people interesting so why do expect other aspects of things in life to always be the same as everything else. How boring 😴

I love the stargaze panoramic roof, but I dislike that I cannot have a roof rack on the limited!!😠

I just bought 2022 venza hybrid limited I love it i don't complaint anything the only complaint is to much technology inside the car for a 64 years old like me .i can run more than 1000 kilometers for 55 litre of gas with the light foot on the gas paddle .thanks for your video take care bye from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦

I agree. Touch controls are a pain. Can drive off the road trying to operate that junk. Can feel knobs and can keep eyes on the toad.

It is not only hybrid

Just bought a used 2021 Venza XLE that had 2 previous owners from the dealer that they both bought and serviced from.. It has 47,350 miles and is in fantastic condition! We had tested a new Rav 4 then this and the Venza performed so much better. This has the smaller multi display with buttons and knobs; I agree with disliking too much touch screen versus tactile controls. The Venza appears to have greater storage footprint than Rav 4 but probably loses out in cubic space from a more sloped rear hatch/window. Also the cargo are is flat without any way to prevent cargo movement but that's solvable with fold up carriers and maybe small spring loaded bars.

Please do both full and 5x5 reviews!
