for me, this facelift discovery n its predecessor never looked like a discovery, looks like an upgraded freelander, it would have been better to refer to it as such

The biggest issue is the engine is so outdated in terms of power and efficiency compared to the X3 and GLC. A 1.5L engine nowadays can deliver same power and uses 1/3 the fuel.

I feel like Land Rover is scrambling with these new productions. There is no direction and it's clear that they don't know who their target audience is for their vehicles. With the switch to rebranding from Land Rover to "JLR" and the different family types of Land Rovers, it confuses the audience especially when they produce a low end "Discovery Sport" that looks exactly like their Range Rover on the interior. There's little to no distinction between what a "Land Rover", "Range Rover", or "Discovery" are. Then there's their country-man/everyday's-man "Defender" that's a failed attempt at recycling their "old roots". The 2024 LR Discovery Sport should NOT look more premium than their 2024 Velar and Evoque. Why not do away with all the labels and call them all Range Rovers at this point.

I would say its fair to assume its only a facelift as the next gen will be on an ev platform most likely.

The 1st years of these were trash and built cheaply
