Just getting excited about trying something new and you are an amazing instructor
ОтветитьIs it okay to prune the top like that in shorter growing seasons??
ОтветитьPoop.
I mean, bonus points, right?
I have sheep and sheep poop can be used as a cold fertilizer. It's actually the highest in potassium of all the poops. I also have chickens who make lovely compost for the garden that gets used for everything, but the ones that like extra nutrients (like peppers, tomatoes, and summer squash) get a little scoop of lovely sheep beans.
By the way, FANTASTIC video and awesome tips! I'll totally be using some of these in my garden this year, but may i make a recommendation?
I have severe ADHD and it took me 6 tries to get through the whole video to get the information. A little bit of background music goes a long way for people like me. Maybe you do that in more recent videos (definitely going to check out more!), but it is crazy how much that helps. Think of it as the music helps to drown out all of the constant traffic noise in the brain. Just barely audible, doesn't need to be loud. But if there's a distraction in your videos, you'll get a lot more folks like me able to focus and ultimately subscribe because they were able to get all of the info in the actual length of the video. 👍👍 keep being awesome!
Great video. To the point and very informative.
ОтветитьI usually top my pepper plants, but at a later stage. Thanks especially for that tip.
Ответитьi have more of a field than a garden (acre'ish vs few plants in pots) so alot of that "extra care" is not as feasible for me, but ive never actually thought about topping the pepper plant. i need both quality and quantity, leaning more toward quantity since i sell my crops, but produce is bought by the eyes first so nice looking large peppers in lower supply may still be worth it.
ОтветитьHave u tried just laying it down on its side? I just had one randomly sprout up and went unnoticed in my ginger pot & it grew about 10"and at 90 degrees to a devils elbow reaching for light. Its growing like crazy and has a dozen flowers! even the 1st leaf grew a branch with flowers . They look well developed, but my concern is if such a small plant can support that much fruit? Or should i thin out the flowers?
ОтветитьToday, I threw away all my green pepper plants because they just were not producing ANY peppers. They were flowering then turning into seed pods. I just don't know what happened. Any help you could give that'd be great.
ОтветитьCan I prune my squash male flowers when no female flowers? Thanks. Bruce
ОтветитьDang! I've done everything wrong this season. TY for your help
ОтветитьJust show pictures of plant in July to support ....
ОтветитьThere is a guy who says put ice water on bell pepper plants
ОтветитьNaked gardening is the only way to garden! Facts
ОтветитьMy mini bell peppers do not like to be in the same pot,so I transplanted one of them and it’s super happy now. I’m glad you told us about cutting off the top leaves. I will try it because last year was a small crop. Anybody know how to get rid of crickets or grasshoppers, they are a nuisance when it’s windy here, in northern Nevada? They love my green leaves of the pepper plant.
Thanks, for telling us to take off the first 6 flowers, hopefully that will make a difference this year.
I’m a newby. This year I planted every pepper I could find, and by their Scoville Heat Units (purple bell to ghost peppers, and everyone in between. I wish I had seen this earlier. 😊
ОтветитьI prune sometimes thou
ОтветитьThan you for being a good teacher!
ОтветитьI'm caging this year for the first time because the plants tend to fall over split later in the year or a strong wind will break the stalk.
ОтветитьI PPPPruned the first to blossoms that came out on one of my PPPPlants, there must be more than 20 now coming out of the new growth.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьI also add ePsom salt
ОтветитьInteresting discussion. Thanks for sharing. I differ a bit in opinion, but thats what makes it interesting right? Sun scald can also be more present when your Calcium/Magnesium (CaMg+) levels get low early in seedling development stage to when the 1st flowers are visible, and again later in the season...(same with tomatoes -esp paste the calcuim levels are super critical early and mid season when they are pumping out fruit. Its difficult to pick off those 1st flowers, but I find they end up producing better in the long run like you said. Yes, I agree, Increast phosphate uptatke and calcium when youve grown a strong core or foundation and plant is ready for flowering and holding that heavy giant pepper without snapping off. I usually start doing that mid to end of July, soon after the solctice and Daylight begins to decrease. (Move to a larger P in the NPK equasion, or aka bloom fertilzer._ I agree with your philosophy, the pruning stimulates the growth hormones. Great video, good info. You have a better way of explaining it that sounds easier to understand than what I just said. lol We both have great peppers I imagine with those tips. What is your grow zone?
ОтветитьThank you!!
ОтветитьI have planted peppers for my first time this year there about 8 in tall and all realy has a pepper and blossoms should I remove the pepper and blossoms so they grow taller
ОтветитьI topped my pepper plant and now it’s just really short and bushy. How do I make it more taller?
ОтветитьOnly do this if you have a long grow season. Us short season growers can't do this. There isn't enough time
ОтветитьNice. I took a plant physiology class in the early 1970s. Potassium and phosphorus, nitrogen ratios in fertilizers are often mentioned in gardening videos, but very seldom plant hormones. Nice. When we primates learn a little more about plant molecular biology, we might consider learning more about our own endocrine system; and how it relates to our good and not so good behaviors.
ОтветитьHow ABOUT Peroxide
ОтветитьLooks like plumeria in the background.
ОтветитьIs there any problem planting jalapeños near bell peppers? Someone told me that the jalapeños won’t be as hot.
ОтветитьAnyone try using wall of water on their peppers for the first month?
ОтветитьAll depends on the length of ur growing season. Im in 6 so topping is not that good of an idea and usually have to wait till the second week of june to plant
ОтветитьI wish I would have watched this video a week ago...hope I did not place them outside the greenhouse too early! Had lots of chili peppers last year but will try the pruning/topping tips this year (on at least a few of the plants) to see the difference in the results. Looking for a good organic fertilizer right now to help them along.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing all this!
ОтветитьThis is my first year planting peppers in the garden. I use raised beds this time. All my peppers, jalapeños, & bell peppers have holes. What video do you address pest on the peppers. They are perfectly round holes, I think slugs, how do I control them? Can you give me the link where to tell how to control pest in the organic garden?
Ответить🇨🇦❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьTry dark knight sweet pointed pepper they grow almost black b4 ripening red they are soooo tasty
ОтветитьCan i stll clip the head even when the tree is all grown up ?
ОтветитьPlant them, pour water on them, pinch the leaf miners, pick the peppers, put them on your plate
ОтветитьI am his friend My name is Mike Neal I got a green rum and I can grow anything you want 8n the garden or in-house be garden under widow
ОтветитьOutstanding all inclusive video - and also to the point without a lot of dross. Thanks.
ОтветитьCan someone please answer a ??
I was snipping off flowering pods on my 6 week old pepper plants... i also cliped off the cotyledum leaves. Then learned how important they are. Will it be OK as long as the plant is bigger now? Their 6-7 inches.
Once you plun dose the plant continue to grow upward?😊
ОтветитьYou didn't mention their name, that two product you put in ?
ОтветитьI'm in zone 5b so the only point I will disagree with is the pruning. If I prune my peppers there isn't enough growing days for it to recover and produce fruit. So in cooler climates pruning isn't something we do on a regular basis. Some gardeners may, but none that I know.
ОтветитьDoes this apply to ALL peppers? Banana peppers and thai chili peppers?
ОтветитьAll of this makes sense. Thanks so much.
ОтветитьStop popping your p,s😊FJB😊😊😊
