It should be noted that due to computational constraints, the full effects of the actual impact cant be captured, as the response of the turret, the turret drive, and internal components aren't accounted for.
Additionally, an interesting thing to note is that under normal indirect fire trajectories, the projectile will impact the ground at only 300-400m/s, meaning some fragments will be thrown backwards
I believe this counts as a significant emotional event for the crew.
ОтветитьIf it's indirect fire, why the shell ist hitting the tank horizontally?
ОтветитьI've been saying it forever. A 155 direct hit (indirectly aimed, or otherwise) would definitely kill a tank. There is no question about it. I've seen too many 155s go boom. The crew might survive, but they'd be deaf, blind, dumb or all three.
Ответить“Hit” +50sl +10rp
ОтветитьAfter the 2014 invasion, Ukranian troops for a while used direct fire 122mm HE shells from 2S1s against ERA equipped Russian tanks, and they were described as shearing the turret off the tanks
ОтветитьBettee than war thunder

ОтветитьПрямой наводкой уже давно ни кто не бьёт 😂
ОтветитьOld arty boy here.. Direct fire with M109s is fun as hell 😊

Легко. Легко снаряд сломает броню.
ОтветитьOk
ОтветитьA 155 mm HE round would rip the turret off of a T-72 !
ОтветитьI was watching a thread on a completely different subject and they talked about the old medieval bombards with their massive barrel bore, and someone in the comments was asking, "I wonder what would happen to a tank if one of those big slow moving stones hit it."
And I was like, "Hmmm... I know a channel that does that sort of thing."
If the simulation included a driver with skeleton, it would have shown his skull shooting down through his ribcage and out the bottom of the pelvis.
ОтветитьThis was the tactic British tanks used to defeat the German Tiger 1 tanks in Tunisia.
ОтветитьAs I said times and times, Overpressure is a bitch
ОтветитьAnd the fking Ammo explodes anyway...
ОтветитьThe overpressure must have killed the driver and critically injured the turret crew, crazy.
ОтветитьДинамическое блоки где? Муделисты хреновы
ОтветитьFormer Redleg here. This what we were told when i went to Fort Sill for osut back in 2003.
We wouldn't use a standard HE round. If we had NO other choice, we would use an M549 Comp B rocket assisted projectile (not a standard tnt charge round) topped with a point detonation fuse, and propelled by a super 8 red bag powder charge behind it.
Then we would run faster than greased shit through a goose after disabling the Paladin.
Every modern tank is not armoured for these calibers. It's is literally a tank, I mean cistern. So many weapon types can destroy it... From a hand grenade to Jawelin ATGM or an old good 155 HE.
ОтветитьOuch m1abrams would suffer the same fate. Artilery is scary for any tank.
After all, most tank losses in the Russia-Ukraine war have been due to artillery and atgm's.
ОтветитьWar Thunder be like
"Best I can do is an orange optic"
I think that T72 driver is doomed !
ОтветитьCould just use the T30 for the firing vehicle. Feels less weird than using a paladin for direct fire.
ОтветитьI was in The artillery and when training for direct hits on tanks it was always without the fuse, a good hit would flip a tank upside down.
ОтветитьAnd now let's simulate it against home intruder
ОтветитьLet me just tell you this: no tank in the world coul withstand this shot, this animation is misleading at best.
ОтветитьIt's better without voice
ОтветитьI was marine arti and got to fire these shells. The SOP for direct fire against heavy armored target is to go for a mobility kill(tracks or turret ring) and then run for your life because no way in hell will these shells do anything to a tank. Anything less, the shells would rip through the hull like a hot knife through butter. The only other option would be to shoot WP at the tank and hope it melts enough of the vehicle. While shooting infantry with WP is against the geneva convention, shooting a vehicle full of troops for some reason is not. So once again...hotknife through butter.
Ответитьso war thunder got it right ig
ОтветитьFrom my perspective the artillery shell should have been simulated to come from above or at least a 30 degree incoming angle, they are rarely coming in horizontally unless it's point blank range.
ОтветитьAh wtf is that AI voice
Ответитьthe Czech DANA howitzer has the possibility of direct fire and also has HEAT grenades 152-EPrSv. Make a video with this grenade. Thanks
Ответитьbonk
ОтветитьSome 40 years ago an Arty Captain told of a cancelled plan for developing an AT round for the 155. They hit an old tank (target on the impact range) <direct fire> to see what it would do. The round flipped the tank over. Why waste time on a type of round that you do not need?
ОтветитьCan you simulate a concrete/brick building hit? In 2002 I had to fill in sandbags for extra protection on our M109 derivative artillery systems when some generals suggested stationing them on the hills overlooking a terrorist haven and shooting direct fire. Our commander said it seems like a stupid idea since these shells might initiate only after going through several walls and end up destroying neighboring buildings - and the plan was scrapped.
ОтветитьWhat? An arty hit doesn't obliterate a tank?
ОтветитьThey voice totally surprised me. I exited fullscreen mode to look for rogue audio 😅
ОтветитьWHAT PROGRAM DOES THIS DUDE USE?
Ответить"that one bounced!"
ОтветитьCan u simulate the damage of autocannons' HE (20-30mm) on aircraft's wings?
Ответить"The shock wave and energy transferred would have a high likelihood of disabling mechanical systems" is a nice euphemism for "The crew would be spray painted to the floor of the tank from the blast.".
ОтветитьPls T90 heat ammo Vs M1A2 turret ring
