The Legendary Stardust Cowboy is definitely real. You’ll find some of his music on the compilation “Songs in the Key of Z: the Curious Universe of Outsider Music” compiled by the late Irwin Chusid. Many “do not play this song”-type of songs on the numerous compilations with that name.
