Setting up Sonos Speakers (Walkthrough)

Thx! But do everyone need to be logged into the app in order to use the speakers? I mean other deviced in my network, can they cast whatever they want to the Sonor Speaker, without using the Sonos App? Like how the Chromecast work?

Just spent 4 hours trying to help my neighbours getting this to work. We couldn't manage it.
As soon as we make an account we get an 'Problem with network' error. There are 2 apps somehow, S1 and S2. The S2 app says it doesn't work with his devices.
The S1 app however forces and update and redirects us to the Store - to download the S2 app.

These are only a handfull of examples of the issues we encountered. It's a disaster.

This video makes it look so easy. I just bought this thing, and the S2 app can't seem to recognize it. Instead, it keeps trying to connect to my old Play 5, which isn't even plugged in. I can't even access the system or settings portions of the app for some reason (they are greyed out), so I can see if it's connecting to my wifi. And when I try to login to my sonos account, it tells me that the device isn't connected to the internet. Everything else in the house is connected without problem. This is all very frustrating. I generally expect products to become more refined and user friendly over time, but this sonos speaker is more difficult to use than the one I bought 9 years ago. I happily would have just bought a simpler blue tooth speaker if I'd had any idea what I was in for. I don't appreciate having to take time out of my day to call their support hotline. Has anyone else encountered these problems, and how did they solve them.

To avoid consufusion for some people, to make sure it's flashing green bress down the button above the cable for a few seconds and it'll alternate red and white and eventually it'll be green.

15 seconds into this video and I already hate you. Your line “Im going to show you just how easy it is to set up a SONOS cuts deep” I spent 3000 dollars on thus system back in 2017 or so, and there is no product of any kind that i have used in my life that i hate more. THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE TO SETUP! Nothing that the app tells you to works. Anytime i have ever wanted to watch TV or listen music, that day just turns into a fucking SONOS nightmare. I generally stopped wTching movies snd listening to music at home because of Sonos. The worst part? They are fucking speakers. I only need them to play Sound. That’s it. Simple you say? Man, if I could even given you the tip of the iceberg of what’s wrong with that statement. But fine I will listen. Anybody want to buy my sonos speakers? Can't take the constant reconnecting and dicking about almost weekly.. so over it. Great sound. Shithouse wifi connection. And streaming only. Bluetooth and files almost impossible to use. Waste of money.

Won the one sl in a raffle at christmas. still not connected. Poor set up instructions. Sonos will not be replacing my Bose V22 lifestyle system.

Not to happy to install. So complicated. After installing speakers too wall brakes have to take them down again just to push button

So far very disappointed. So difficult app.this press here do that. After sting my speaker on the wall with the brakes have to take them down to press the button. How frustrating. I wanted something simple and it's passing me off.

One of my speakers just upped and stopped working. Sonos One pair… one of ‘em works fine, the other won’t power up. WTF

Nobody wants to use that stupid sonos app and if you didn't register the speaker, it's light will turn green and restrict you from using it. I paid hundreds of dollars and don't have the full control and ownership of the device. It doesn't make sense. They are too cheap to let you have Bluetooth. They want to control and take your information. You are buying an expensive garage.

I love how he says it finds your speaker automatically. I have moved house and changed network provider twce. EVERY time I do this, my Sonos One just works, my SL and Roam are a right nightmare and I spend ages trying to get them to connect. Usually give up and try a bit later in the week, then for some weird reason, they just connect. Basically, very rubbish software oif you use an Android phone and that is with the updated and apparently Android friendly S2 app. I would get rid of all but the One but they are so expensive that I just spend ages setting them up and then one day, they just lose the network again. :( Hate these things with a vengeance, one day I will replace them with something cheaper that just works. Sound is great though!

If I could go back and buy Bose I would. "Sonos the best sound you will never hear" Because the app is so poor it can't play, and the help files even poorer.
