Karl is a predator. He bought that game for Danny with clear intent to manipulate, confuse, and seduce him virtually. He knew Danny wasn’t 100% happy in his marriage, wanting to explore other women sexually, and purposely took on a female character to exploit that. I always wondered whether something like this influenced the implied distance in their friendship prior to Karl showing up with the game.

Season 5 was such a train wreck and has one of the worst written episodes of black mirror. This story should have ended up on a divorce but no, having random hookups with randoms at the bar and being gay and still being married to a woman is the only logical way here 😂 Such a clown ending

Would've made more sense if they both had a female game character. They're supposed to be straight, but one of them is getting banged by a man. Feels the mans body, mans hands etcetera.

The thing that’s more “disturbing” is that for Dany’s side it’s quite understandable, in the game he sees a very attractive female character and so it’s justifiable to feel sexually attracted to it, but in Karl’s view he sees a man. Like my dude you’re gay as fuck that’s all

How can you say this ending was happy? Two people who are cheating on each other in different ways, while two of the characters are sexually confused and the agreement between him and his wife is more “let’s do something to not get divorced” than an actual agreement they both wanted, ESPECIALLY for his wife. She seemed to just give in and go along with it, even though she really didn’t want to, because she was desperate to keep her husband.

They both look sad at the end, not happy.

This episode left me confused

Theo was a solid woman and Danny was a confused lost soul fighting his own personal thoughts and desires trying to find his happiness. I think Danny had real feelings for Karl when they shared the kiss but I also think since Karl said he didn’t feel a thing Danny just agreed to make things less complicated.

This was the first black mirror episode I ever watched and it was with my brother because we thought it would be cool to watch Black Mirror.... I have never watched this show again just because of how uncomfortable it made us
