I’m 5’10 and have been in 1st gen evoque, and it was tiny. You’d get the same amount of leg room as honda civic. It’s uncomfortable af to be a passenger.

I don’t agree with this review. Seems our American friend typically wants more power, more space, more stuff. You can’t compare this to the velar or other models. It’s smaller for a reason.
The fact h says the colour is grey and flat and boring. He obviously doesn’t know style. Grey is one of the most sought after colours. Not a very good review.

Drove one for a week 4 years ago while vacationing in Europe. Was a nice vehicle overall, very well equipped (although the nice infotainment system always took eons to come to life) etc. But that transmission. Oh dear God. It was absolutely horrid. Sure, puttering along it was fine as any, but sometimes you have to give it some go and I found it a complete dog shit. In some situations it was downright scary. I actually rented it because it was on my list of possible buys, and after that one week (done about 1k miles), I returned it and never wanted to drive one again, ever.

I had three giant SUVs in a row, got the Evoque and I am not going back. 10X easier to park than a giant 7 passenger SUV. The sound system in the Evoque is the best I have ver heard.

2022 Evoque??? Very confusing as you switch between an older model and the recent models. Pretty poor effort if you cannot show what your title describes as the 2022 model. Car guru? LOL

1.) You are nuts if you buy a Range Rover instead of leasing it. Range/Land Rovers hav ABYSMAL reliability according to Consumer Reports and other ratings organizations.
I have a 2019 MAZDA CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve (2.5 L. turbo, AWD) that is FAR above the EVOQUE in build quality as well as speed and features. And in 2019 money it was $38,000. and the 2019 EVOQUE was around $6,000. more. More money for LESS, less of everything that is important.

They don't ever put fast enough chips or enough memory in these luxury vehicles, and the screens always seem laggy and not responsive enough.

Love this car but all of the touch screen aspects make me nervous and seem like it would be very distracting while I'm driving rather than having buttons that I can feel for. It sure does look beautiful but I do mostly highway driving in heavy traffic so not sure that'd be a good mix....

This SUV is plenty big for average size adults. If you're super tall, your rear passenger won't be happy though haha.

Rovers have a very poor repair rating. Mine was in the shop 4X a year, as my friends. In 2 years sold it. I really liked the looks, etc. Actually, the 2005 was the most reliable.

In Europe this is one of the best selling SUV’s. It’s not small at all. Just smaller than got ridiculously sized larger Land Rover products. Great styling and Uber luxury.

Very odd script. The Queen doesn't drive a new RR as shown because hardly any have been delivered yet, but she doesn't drive the old ones any more either. Also Evoques sell far more compared to other models in markets outside North America. And you do realise that this model bears no relation to the original you drove 10 years ago except in overall shape. I think the door hinges are the only interchangable parts. It has aged pretty well but it's only 3 years old!
The auto hold feature for the brakes in automatic and works seamlessly; why would you want to turn it off?
The full digital centre display is now only available (in most markets) on the Autobiography cars. It's all to do with the computer chip shortage which has also seen the 360 surround cameras completely deleted. Hopefully they will return when things return to normal.
The P250 you are driving is also a 48V mild hybrid, same as the P300 HST just running less peak boost.

Your reviewing a very basic evoque. You need to review the 2022 SE R dynamics models which has more features than you highlight here

Evoque is not small for me. It's wide, and that is far more important than headroom and legroom. Unless you play for NBA, most people are unaffected by headroom and legroom. Seats are firm and well-supported.

The big drawback is lack of buttons. Why do car companies hate buttons and door handles?
It also needs a much bigger display.

It is small, that’s not how we roll in America. I can get a Explorer ST for around same price. Couple sizes bigger and faster.

When I was in a personal branding webinar with the career centre in Boston couple weeks back somebody who is interested in the plug-in hybrid version of this car sense for four out of the last six years I’ve worked at a car dealer my pic in the segment would be The XC 40 Q3 or Ux
The Gla did not have a lot of room in 2020 eitherx U

No it’s not. My family member has one, constant problems, with the battery, car not starting, for no reason, brand new, happened multiple times in the span of a few months, got a new battery etc.

And the depreciation value is insane. In 2 years of ownership and 13,000 miles, it lost like 35% of its value.
