My theory is that long ago, Shimu raised an army of Skullcrawlers to end the Kongs after the war between Kongs and Godzillas. Scar King saved his species and tamed Shimu but he became dictator in the hollow earth. Shimu was his secret weapon to destroy Ghidora.

Meanwhile, Legendary Godzilla lost his parents (MUTO prime) and same for Legendary Kong (Skullcrawlers)... they fought many ennemies and became kings.

Scar King has sensed them and will fight them to death to create a New Empire.

These are basically Transformers movies at this point. Also I'm betting that gauntlet Kong is wearing is actually some sort of giant cast the humans make for him after the new evil giant ape breaks his arm in an earlier fight in the movie to show how tough he is.

Hmm so they hinted at a war between gozilla species and kong species previously, so I guess some kongs still live. I thought this was a different Godzilla at first but I guess it’s the same one just with a new power up. He kinda looks like Godzilla 2000 now with those purple fins.

I watched Godzilla Minus One on the US release date and thought it was good overall but not something I would be excited to watch again.

The past few days I read more facts about the movie, like how lower budget it was, the director kept denying doing the movie until the time and tech felt right, etc. and grew to appreciate it more.

Watching this trailer for the first time tonight, I am even more appreciative of Minus One and might pass on watching this movie as it seems completely like a cash grab and quite a different style from Godzilla, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Kong: Skull Island.
