I am a new rider at age 71. I just bought a Honda Rebel 500 and I love it. The Rebel doesn't seem to be the kind of bike you feature on your channel but I really love your presentation style and great knowledge of motorcycles. Your enthusiasm is very contagious. Congratulations on your great channel you deserve the growth you are seeing. PS: I really enjoyed seeing some videos featuring your mother. She is a great sport. God bless, ride safe.

Great video man. I'd be keen to get your take on small displacement bikes. We tend to get hung up on the big bad bikes out there and forget the fun little dinky bikes that got us to where we are.

I'm looking for a 2023 rs 660 extrema. Where are they in stock? Ordering takes 6-8 weeks... why so long? If it's a good bike, why isn't someone stocking them?

Lol I have 2 bikes on this list... VFR800 was my second bike (still have as my commuter) heavy but v-tech and that v4 sound... ZX7r was my third bike (still have but is a track bike) heavy but the most solid bike in the corners I have ridden, even on shitty contimotions! Parts for both are very very easy to come by, even up here in Canada!

Thank you, saved me so much money! Was looking at a few different bikes, but all only have ONE spark plug per cylinder. Then I started looking at what models use 2+ plugs per cylinder and I ended up just buying a car.

Any fast liter bike is not a great idea for a new rider. There are some exceptions, but for most new riders you’re dancing with disaster. Build your skills before you jump on a 150+ mph rocket. Plus, younger riders pay a premium for insurance. Your 600 cc recommendation is spot on.

The zx12r is the dad to the zx14r. It is heavy but they were efi which was good.

The thing you missed which should be on this list was the Honda 954rr. Great bike bit expensive for parts at this point and has entered that collectable position along with the 929rr.

Other options as bad first bikes for similar reasons as listed here...

Suzuki SV1000
Honda Superhawk
Suzuki TL/TLR
Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200
Honda CBR1100XX
Kawasaki ZX11/ZZ-R1100

All of these bikes are great, many of theme are getting to the collector level, most of them are going to have part sourcing tax put on them, but all are also awesome bikes.

It is getting sad going to bike events and never seeing any of these or any in recognizable condition.

The main reason I subscribed and the main reason I am currently commenting is because you speak unbiased facts. I have had all type of bikes but I started on 2017gsxr 600cc. I have never gotten a ticket. I never had an accident, nothing!!!! I accredited it to Yahawah and starting on that Gsxr 600cc. I'm on haybusa now and I'll never ride anything else.

Terrible recommendations. New riders should never start on a 600. Unless they want to die. 650 max. Plus, they are guaranteed to drop the bike a few times, so don't buy a new bike.

The mille is a tank(reliable), parts are not abundant by any means, but you can get pretty much anything from UK, and apparently I can get some parts locally (EU-based). But yeah, I'm glad it wasn't my first bike, it's a bit harder to work on. And don't sleep on the ZX12-R, its a fucking missile 😅

My advice is if you just want a bike buy one with a make that has the closest dealership to your residence just for the sake of making things easy for yourself, be it second hand or new.

Loved my zx7r. Very confidence inspiring. But getting slightly older, just became a bit to unenjoyable going at low speeds. Got a z1000 atm, still sports focused but much more usable for everyday riding. Would be hard for me to go back to a super sports now.

120HP is not a beginner bike, 40-75HP is.

Let me tell you, I bought the ZX12R brand new and still have it! It's reliable as all get out! Its fast, great power and stable! Those who had had a ZX12R will know! The reason it a bit heavy, is for the stability at very high speed. It ain't no touring bike either! I have a GTR1400 for that. Ive done some high miles when it was my only bike, my wrist and back side was barking a bit. But it was still awesome!
