I saw this after I listened to the english one; HOLY SHIT it's way more intense!

Kurz und knapp dieser Song und für Film trifft es sehr gut statt traditionell am Abendessen diese Geschichte zu erzählen kann man den Film kaufen lassen er trifft es sehr gut

Wow... the chor in the german Version totally kills it and gives me shivers.

And for those how always complain about the "translation".

To simply translate songs word by word rarely makes sense so they translate "overall meaning" and not word by word or sentense by sentence so that it fits into the song, rythem and music and they did great here.

I know about the translation because I am from germany.

I feel this version is just as powerful as the english one, both are almost fully germanic in the choice of words. Funny enough in the first and last sentence it could've been "my folk" instead of "my people", and thus match the german "mein Volk".

So glad this hasnt been switched to 'especially for kids' so the comments are a love bomb of appreciation for the talents involved and other languages and cultures.

I'm german and tbh I prefer the english version because things like "Once you were my brother, We had fun together, Yes this was what I wanted" just sounds so goofy with this intense music.

As an Italian who loves and appreciates both the original songs and their Italian adaptation of this film, I can't deny that this song gives its best in German. It flows right through your bones.
