Is the water pressure just the light/shower setting on a standard garden hose (i.e. not high pressure)?

do people really think that engineers don't design under hood components to get wet? modern cars use various seals and gaskets on all electrical connectors and covers. this isn't a tv or an electronic that's in your house that stays warm and dry all the time. car are subject to extreme temperature swings, high humidity, monsoon level rain, and snow/slush that packs under the car. what do think happens under your hood when you drive through a deep puddle and water shoots over the car, does it magically stay out of the engine compartment? just don't flood the engine bay with water and blow it off with a leaf blower or air compressor and you will be fine.

Any thought to doing a tutorial on a hybrid engine?

Good evening, detail geek. Wouldn't it be better to use your steam cleaner than use water, to clean engine bay? Water could get into an electrical container and or into a spark plug coil pack. The steam cleaner use less water.

What was your dilution ratio?

Who degreaser use?

Maybe I missed it but did he do the hood? Part of the engine bay? Just curious.

Oh an that’s the computer right next to the battery as I watch you spray it directly with water. They are sealed but not very well

As a licensed mechanic, you are going to get caught spraying water all over the engine, way to many electrical sensors an connectors an computers, just had a car come in from a detailer an the electronic parking brake module in the trunk was soaked, an fried, doesn’t matter how much you use your bissel there is going to be water soaked in to the sound deadening material under the carpet.
Stop cleaning engine bays
No body looks at that crap. That is a money grab for you. it’s pointless. Keep it nice an dry an just wipe with a rag. And if you haven’t got caught doing it yet. You will I promise

You always say it’s a must to remove the battery connections will it not send any error message or reset anything when you put it back on? UK car’s battery specially recent models seems to be well covered up including the terminals does it still warrant disconnecting them? I’ve noticed most cars that you detail, the terminals are exposed.

Is there anything you would want to avoid getting water/soap on? Alternator or belts?

Who in the world knew that watching videos of car detailing would be so darn interesting ? Taking care of the appearance of your car adds to its appeal and intrinsic value when selling or trading .

I use a soap called miracle 2 that can be used as a degreaser , bug cleaner , but is also gentle enough for bathing a baby , if you can believe it . Miracle 2 can be googled . IT comes in trial sizes , if you are interested .

What would you recommend for a pod air filter? Cover it with a plastic bag, or just go mad with the degreaser?

I don't use water at all. I use a microfiber towel and some smooth brushes first to remove dust and then spray soapy water on another microfiber towel to clean. I take my time when it comes to the engine since the alternators and sensors can be damaged due to excessive water.

What about damaging the engine or electrical parts with all that water. Most detail shops make you sign a wavier that says they are not responsible for damage.

What are the advantages, why would someone want to keep their engine bay clean? Does it help the engine life last longer and have less issues?

I love your videos but how to you protect componets like the alternator? Sometimes if it gets too much water it got damage... it happen to my car once and I had to find a new one.

I have a question. Why don’t you just use the blow dryer on the paint? I have a drying towel and use it but could I use some sort of leaf blower or something? Would that leave spots?
