This tour is the one I have always wanted to do for everyone to see!
Seems we just needed the right guest for it to become a reality.
We have been trying to do our part to keep film alive for over a decade now, but I think communicating what we are doing has always been a pain point for us. Your visit and questions helped everyone in the team communicate just a bit more than we would as Finns normally.
Thank you Destin for the visit (and all the rest)!
- Juho
ps. If anyone has questions that didn't get answered through this tour, comment them below and I will do a Q&A on the Camera Rescue channel.
I found my new employer 😀
Ow wait, I'm still in the Netherlands..
how does juho keep his skin so smooth?
ОтветитьThanks for this! I applaud the two founders for having the foresight and passion to start such a business. I also applaud the entire Camera Rescue team for doing what they do. Good stuff!
ОтветитьI love how you're using all these US idioms/phrases and the Danes are just so matter-of-fact. its hilarious.
ОтветитьFinns are amazing. Greetings from a Romanian:)
ОтветитьWell done! Nice to see you out and about, exchanging goodwill wherever you go. Would love to see more videos like this.
ОтветитьAri proudly portraying the prototype testing machine he's building and Destin going "bah I like the old stuff" is kind of a mood
I'm pretty sure Destin didn't mean to be dismissive, but it's still pretty funny. Poor Ari
I would love to work at a place like this.
ОтветитьI was drooling this entire episode... Have wanted to do the camera tech school ever since I first heard about it. Then COVID hit. Happy to see it being reignited this year. My circumstances have changed, but hope it remains sustainable for the Kamerastore and is available when I am able again to sign up!
ОтветитьFeels like this channel fell off :(
Ответитьcool Ad
ОтветитьMakes you think of spaceships
ОтветитьThis was super informative and I couldn’t stop watching them work.
It feels like this tour was just an excuse to shop for camera parts tho LOL
Cameras are a mechanical work of art, and a time machine.
I like their philosiphy of circular economy, and reviving value and skills. Kamerastore are a very interesting company.
Lol, I moved to the Nordics a while back. "Ok, so you actually buy in cameras"? ... " Well, I do not actually buy the cameras .... " ... What Destin is experiencing is Nordic literalism ... lol
Ответить"DROP HERE YOUR FILM" ⬇️
ОтветитьAre high capacity (film)magazines legal still?
ОтветитьRicoh is developing a new Pentax film camera(s). Interesting times are coming!
ОтветитьTorille!
ОтветитьHuh, the stereotypes are right, im actually surprised 😂
ОтветитьI hope that the vault itself is 5 million. Because if that's including the contents that's not that crazy for a stock of a camera retailer. Actually never mind, seeing what these guys do is cool. I'm not hating (not that I was in the first place. I'm a patron after all hahah)
ОтветитьTORILLE!!!
Ответить100% amazing!!!
ОтветитьI may have a show suggestion.
A series of that have lost their beginning, so someone could not repeat what they developed.
Lost technology.
Finns are awkwards AND relaxed and chill at the same time. I'm a huge fan of Finns :D
ОтветитьWow! Flashbacks to Leicas, Nikons, RBs, Blads and Arris... Life as a USCG PA1 was good!
ОтветитьHow cool! I didn't know you've visited in my home town :D Love your videos, keep it going! <3
ОтветитьDestin, this was awesome in so many ways!
ОтветитьDestin is my role model
ОтветитьIt's been a long time that i laughed so much watching a YT Video. Thank you Destin! 🎉
ОтветитьIt's so funny watching the finnish react to Dustin saying "you" when he doesen't mean "you" but the firm 😂 english is just too simplified for the developed world 😂
ОтветитьI definitely wouldn't pay $200 for a point and shoot film camera. That is for the wealthy elite.
For $200 I could get a decent video camera. which is what I would like to do. Or a fair digital audio recorder for field recordings.
I could get a 7 string guitar with a trem bridge for $350 if I had it.
I still have my 35mm camera. But I can't get film for it. I mean I could buy it online, but they charge a lot for it now.
And then it would be a matter of developing it, because I don't think there is any stores like Walgreens or wherever that still develop film.
Honestly I would rather get a digital one that has all the mobility of a 35mm, being able to open and close the iris, and also film video.
But I can't afford that.
Destin interacting with Europeans is always the best. His extroversion and their introversion makes for such a dynamic.
ОтветитьDoes anybody else notice how uncomfortable Destin makes people sometimes? I wonder if he's blind to it.
ОтветитьIt's really interesting to see these wildly different cultures clash in so many subtle ways
ОтветитьIt's nice to see some Finnish guys on the channel. I am an American of Finnish descent with geek tendencies. Kiva nähdä suomalaisia tyyppejä kanavalla. Olen suomalaistaustainen amerikkalainen, jolla on nörttimäisiä taipumuksia.
Ответитьcool to see that lax guy just school you with real camera knowledge.
ОтветитьNow correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think circular economy is in anyway a "new thing". I study business administration in Finland and we've gone through the term and everything surrounding it and seem to remember the materials that talked about it being released in like 2014 or something and probably not even firs edition. Also it's basically just recycling with a fancy name.
ОтветитьWow, wow, wow. Incredible footage and great people perusing a worthy cause.
I’m fortunate to work with Finns. They’re lovely people; brutally honest, totally trustworthy and as engineers, always competent.
When I was wrapping up my film photography hobby, I sold all of my gear to these guys in one package. I could have gotten more trying to sell it all separately, but they paid alright for the convenience and since most of the gear needed servicing, they probably went to the right address. Would be cool to visit their store one day. I also used their film development service since they're like the last ones in Finland that still do it.
ОтветитьLouis Rossmann would love this guy
ОтветитьThis video was amazing an thanks to the Kamerastore for all the hard work. I could see them investing in 3d scanning technology so they could reproduce parts if required or at least have copies with dimensions etc.
ОтветитьThis was super interesting and very cool. Nice and clever people. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Norway 🙂
ОтветитьSuomi mainittu!
