As far as I know Captain Ibrahim Traore' has not resigned from the army! He also lives on his Captains pay and NOT a presidential salary! So as a soldier, he is entitled to wear his uniform! As you noted, regarding his wearing a loaded pistol, once bitten, twice shy! He has been subject to multiple assassination attempts and coups! His guard has been offered 5 million dollars to kill him! As a soldier attending these events, he has the duty to go in uniform to show his solidarity with the fallen, so many years ago. Ibrahim is fighting the same tyranny as they. I appreciate that he at appropriate times during the ceremonies saluted respectively.
