I made this, and followed your recipe. So yummy! I will be making it again!
ОтветитьWhat a beautiful, gorgeous animal.
ОтветитьWe call it Russian salad and in Bosina we are making it every New Year’s Eve
ОтветитьDefinately going to make this delicious salad ❤❤
ОтветитьYep, known as Russian salad also in Portugal. We cook it a little bit differently, tuna instead of sausage and no pickles. The rest is more or less the same. It's a great food for summer.
ОтветитьSo fun!! Thank you for this recipe and its history.
Ответитьyou are so dangerous with that knife
ОтветитьLong live the legacy of soviet union ✊️<3
ОтветитьAqui no Brasil é muito comum essa salada...eu adoroooo!
Ответить😋
ОтветитьLike a potato salad, but with peas, sausage and carrots.
ОтветитьWe have the same salad in Poland, minus the ham. We also add an apple. I use frozen peas, and I highly recommend it - so much better for no more effort than canned.😀
ОтветитьLove that salad, I am Cuban, we used to eat that all the time when I was little and the ussr presence was huge overthere.
Ответитьwelcom nbahha
ОтветитьWhat type and brand of sausage is that victoria ??
ОтветитьWhy God? Why did you do that with your hair,Victoria? I'm disapointed(
ОтветитьABSOLUTELY THE SWEETEST! 😍
ОтветитьIf you less mayonnaise add fresh cream to your salad it’s absolutely delicious.
ОтветитьIn Hungary we call it French salad ( without sausage)
ОтветитьOk! I'm totally going to make this and bring it to a holiday. Love when you share recipes!!! 💕
Ответить❤I remember being that happy young and married. It tickled you to have hidden the camera, you couldn’t help but laugh. Just so great to watch. You go from just feeling peace watching you make a Russian potato salad, to getting some realism with the power going off, to adoring his genuine reaction to your salad. It was funny and moving at the same time. Only you could do that in a ten minute video. Thanks so much for that. Very enjoyable.
ОтветитьI love Russian salad! Cheers from Miami, Fl. USA.
ОтветитьAs a russian I'd say you made if perfectly
ОтветитьI've made my list of ingredients to make the salad next week. You and your family are lovely people, thanks for sharing. You and your husband are wonderful parents. Agatha is very bright. You give her the freedoms to explore and be included in cooking or other activities which grows her creativity. Be safe, I wish you all the very best. William Peppers, Frankfort, KY, USA.
Ответитьhave never seen an egg peeled with a spoon....I'm going to try that
ОтветитьIt looks so interesting. I will definitely try it but I wont add eggs because personally I dont like eggs but I think it would be okay without the eggs right? maybe if you have any suggestions of an alternative to the eggs let me know.
In my culture we dont celebrate christmas or the new year, but that doesn’t mean that we cant try other meals and things from other countries, this meal seems easy and you can find all the ingredients in almost every house, I’ll make sure to try it very soon, thank you for sharing ❤.
Just found your channel and I’m really enjoying it, especially the recipes! I’m living in US, Minnesota (Midwest) and there are a lot of traditional “layered salads“ here that remind me of this. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьIn my family we use boiled chicken breast as meat in the salad. Next time try mixing mayonnaise with greek yogurt, for us is better. In Romania we call it boeuf salad.
ОтветитьSo cute!!!
ОтветитьI have seen a similar salad with macaroni instead of potato.
ОтветитьThere are many variations in the US for “salads stuck together with mayo.” They are big in the Summer weather because it can be cooked ahead and doesn’t need the stove heat too much. Also they travel well, so every Barbecue, picnic, potluck, etc. has them.
Any starch: potatoes, pasta, rice, legumes.
Any meat, cured meat, fish/seafood, vegetarian substitute or none.
Any vegetable, canned, pickled, or fresh.
Cheese, no cheese.
Pickles, olives, capers, pickled artichoke hearts.
A little FRUIT or NUTS and it becomes “gourmet!” 🤣
Miscellaneous spices. A little curry and it’s “Indian.” A little caraway and it’s “German.” A little taco seasoning and it’s….yep! “Mexican.”
Everyone loves them. 🤎 (My grandkids like Cold Kraft Dinner Mac & Cheese from the box with canned peas and chopped up chicken nuggets in mayo. I kid you not. It’s their favorite “salad.” 🫣)
Thank you for sharing this!
Hello!
I'm from Bulgaria. Years ago, every new year celebration, we had this salad. In Bulgaria we call it "Russian salad" :)
It's like potato salad
ОтветитьI just subscribed. I've seen videos of yours over the years, though.
That mayonnaise pouch seems very convenient. They don't sell it that way in Spain!
I love seeing Russian traditions and recipes... keep that coming! I don't think I would like this salad, but it would be better .... to me.... if it used frozen, cooked peas instead of canned. I don't grow peas in my garden but just buy them as it is too time consuming to grow them for the tiny bit you get, and I canned these years ago and didn't like them any better than store bought canned peas.
But I love the fresh, frozen peas!
Here is a recipe for you to try that is WELL liked where I live in Nebraska, in the United States.
Spaghetti Corn Casserole
Oil spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan or glass dish and into it put the following ingredients:
1 cup dry, broken up spaghetti... in 1 inch pieces.
1 cup butter or margarine cut into cubes
1 can of whole kernal corn (mostly drained)
1 can cream style corn
1 cup Velveeta cheese (If you have this in Russia? Otherwise, a soft melting cheese.)
1-2 Tablespoons of diced onion
Put all ingredients into your greased baking dish and stir. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.... remove from oven, remove foil and stir again. Place back into the oven WITHOUT the foil and bake an additional 30 minutes. (Fantastic!!)
Whenever our small village has a funeral for a local person, I take a huge batch of this to the family meal... and I use 2 pounds of spaghetti, and about 6-7 cans each of creamed and whole corn. I NEVER have anything leftover after the family has eaten, as this is the first to go. I make a large pan of this for our branding to feed our crew of 50-60 persons.
I have also made this with diced cooked chicken or ham, and for a holiday look, 1-2 Tablespoons of finely diced red and green pepper.
Next time before boiling the potatoes you can peel them 😅
ОтветитьYum! Looks delish! Enjoy the cooking episodes you share!
Ответить🇷🇸In Serbia we make it for Christmas, Easter, New Year and other important celebrations. We just love it
ОтветитьI liked the recording of your husband's reaction at the end. 🤣. I also liked learning if a new dish from another country. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI live in Australia and this salad looks great for summer!
Ответитьi never make it myself. but i love family gatherings only for this one dish XD
ITS PERFECT
Fantastic, your video just keep getting better & better. Get the stats you deserve = "Promo sm"!!
ОтветитьHi, it's so perfect😻 I am a Turkish and this salad very popular in Turkey. At us this salad is indispensable for our meetings which are called the day for golden among the people. But we do it a little differently. We add yoghurt, dill and pasta but we add not sausage and egg. I recommend you to try it this way!
(And i don't know english any better. I'm so sorry if i made a mistake :/)
I wonder what kind of sausage available in America most closely resembles that one?
ОтветитьThe way you hold things when you cut them made me so nervous you would cut yourself! 😆 However- the way you peeled those eggs was genius!! 👍
ОтветитьLoved this video a lot, very informative and it looked delicious too!
ОтветитьMy Salad is better, much better....💔❣️. 🤣🤣🤣... Thanks
ОтветитьI got to spend this New Year with my Russian babushka and it was so important to both of us. She immigrated here to the States in 1995. She always makes this salad for every celebration, but she makes it with chicken!
ОтветитьI love egg & potato salad and mainese (pink potato salad from the cook islands) and I like sausages.
So this salad sounds so good to me, I will try 😀
Thanks for sharing!
Awwww you are both darlings 🌷❤️
