Absolutely right. Study people, even if you think the cert is beneath you but is required for a class! Study! Get it done

This is the truth. I have taught IT classes with most comprehending the material and with the promise of high paying jobs waiting for the students at completion. But many were not willing to put the time in to study. Anything worthwhile is not easy, but when there is a lifelong practice of putting in the work, it pays off. Thanks for the post.

Important to drive this home. Also, study practice tests as well so there aren't surprises on the real thing.

Study, practice, and strategize. Study the material, take practice exams, and develop a game plan re: how you’re going to approach certain questions.

Very true, I passed cysa+ today but studied my ass off for nearly 3 months

I scheduled my A+ exam even I am not 100% confident at some topics. And yet I pass the test. I say, its really on doing the work, commit, and get it done.

I think part of it has to do with not knowing what to study even if you barely get by or do okay and have gone through several courses tests and flashcards it’s hard to figure out what works for you and how to study when there so much material

Failed a + 1101 this morning. This makes me feel better. If I need to work harder in order to pass, then that’s better than hearing any other excuse for why I failed. How hard I work is within my control

I started studying on the 13th and I test for Core 1 and Core 2 on the 21st.

I have a hard time retaining and compartmenting all of the material. I keep getting 60/70 on assessment test 😢

As someone who just failed I didn’t study hard enough since I’m a complete beginner to this stuff I should’ve cracked down even harder on my terminology

i also believe that if certification questions was setup in a way, where it straight up, ask a question, to get a direct answer, all would be well. But the questions are sometimes trying to trick you, in the real world, people don't ask tricky questions, that ask what is needed to ask

It's hard stuff. I grew up doing computer stuff, half of it legacy by this point, so the stuff I have to catch up on for my A+ can be a pain. There's a lot to get down, mostly for me it is the version differences and things such as that. But a problem I've run into are some silly things. For instance, doing some practice stuff in prep on the CompTia content, I had to stop and pull up the troubleshooting guide on the CompTia website. The site has 7 steps, and it is current. And my course is current, not due to phase out until 2025. But the practice questions have a 6 step format and some of the specifics to the guide that I learned are moved from one step to another. That is aggravating, when you've learned what they've taught but for some reason it doesn't line up.

i want to know how i can get an actual job?

I haven’t failed a cert thus far but only recently started. I must say, the pressure is quite high when you’re paying for it yourself because these certs ain’t cheap. 😪

I'm halfway through a core 1 A+ online course and have 250 in depth flashcards. I'll likely have 600 700 by the time I'm done.

I will memorize every single one of those cards inside and out before I take my cert test.

My expiriance is totally diffrent... I see alot of people failing certs because there is no good study material.. Majiority of Study material is garbage and you need 2-3 study material sources like a 1x video course and 2 x books. Then you have the exams themselves that are tring to screw you over. Most exams are not really focused on a questions to test your knowledge but instead they focus on your english, they try to test your english understanding.... questions are asking the most retarded grammar, tryign to confuse you... Then there are questions that are not based on the exam material at all.... Or in the case of CCNP ENCOR majiority of questions are on only 2-3 topics out the 20 topics.... You trully have to know the game of the IT Certs in order to start passing them. I have never failed one out of the 5 i hold... However my hardest ones were the 1st and most easy ones i obtained, because i didnt knew what i was getting into. But once I realize what game they are playing, i started to pass the certs very easy.... Also there are plenty of Dumps out there...

If I'm paying 500 dollars for a certifcation, I'm taking it seriously...even if it was 100 dollars. I'm still paying, I'm not paying to fail.
