Here's a question for you...
Would you rather have no money but retain all creative control and do whatever you want, whenever you want...
OR...
Would you rather make money and have to make some sacrifices on creative control?
I know I can make the crowd jump on their toes When You’ve Heard Real Music have the energy to perform Infront of crowds it’s a different ball game but it most definitely would be a dream come tru to have million off my talent with music 🎶 😊
ОтветитьLabel eats all 99% of revenue
Ответитьdope tips
ОтветитьMost independent musicians are too Lazy you 🎉need to get out and sell merch Lazy bums
Ответитьall these years i followed you one of the realest my boy keep it up
ОтветитьGreat video man
Ответить60 Million Dollars!
ОтветитьI have a question. Why arnt u an artist? Why teach music branding and marketing instead of just doing the music path? No shade or anything just curious
ОтветитьAwesome Video 📸🎉
ОтветитьI can assure you this Damian Keyes…
Somehow, someway grand I’m going to pay it forward to you for the information you’re leaking into my consciousness!
For now I will like and comment to support the algorithm. We need more Modern Music Babas like you.
So patreon sounds dope
boutta drop a lot of songs so the streaming adds up a bit (promote the fuck out of them to get a fan base), use my photography photos as NFTs basically, do ted talks on there, promote my own clothing brand, do private merchandise and pre released songs, maybe even meet and greets while on tour, maybe even write a book, sell crystals or even the tables I make.
Honestly Mr. Keyes you're fucking dope. Gonna find a creative and good paying job in the mean time to pay for the expenses of promoting and creating and ill be back to show everyone my art when I got millions of streams and dollars (or whatever form of growth it may be)
GOODLUCK TO ALL UPCOMING ARTISTS I LOVE YALL AND CANT WAIT TO MEET YOU ON THE SIDE WITH THE GREEN GRASS AND WATERFALLS
but uncle ....we s a local people ...its soo hard to earn money s an artist..😔😔
Ответить"Keye takeaways "
Lol
Great vid! Appreciate ya! 🙏
Key Takeaways: Have an army fan base not just Spotify numbers, dropping products that align with your brand, ie. clothing/fashion, affiliate marketing, NFT’s, selling features, holiday albums, etc. Be laser focused on one or two things to get income from. Ex: Chance the Rapper and selling his brand hats.
ОтветитьI am focusing on Streaming at the moment.
ОтветитьTouring
Ответитьgreat video! although youre using examples such as snoop dogg, harry styles etc , all these people haved already made it ; how do you get to where they are is my question. and is there a way to do this without spending all my time on social media pulling fans in?etc . thanks!
Ответитьthe free music epidemic was created to keep the majority of musicians in inability of getting rich digitally for the fear that they would would gain influence and power
the object of the game for the people in control is to make it as difficult as possible for your average musician to get rich that is why the music industry is an absolute shambles from every angle you can possibly look at
About 0.000002% musicians have success. The rest all lose money. Wonder why they never mention that OR that the majority of PROFESSIONAL musicians have now quit the music business since Napster and Covid came along? 850 MILLION Hobbyists are the new music business.
ОтветитьSign me up to win a gold medal!!!!
ОтветитьI’ve made the most money from busking in a vacation town in the summer
ОтветитьI LOVE fashion. I think that’s the way to go for me, but I have also had success in sync & as a performer. Ahhh. Decisions. Decisions. I’m working on building my TikTok now & releasing new songs monthly.
ОтветитьI’ll never sell that much shit. I’m a regular person and not planted so there’s no chance.
ОтветитьCd sales seem to be really good for me at the moment, sold way more than downloads.
ОтветитьThanks for all your insightful teachings. My comment is about the copyright and legal issues surrounding NFTs, such as what they heck are they??? for example, if an artist sells a 15 second chunk of a song attached to a video as an NFT does the buyer now own a chunk of the song royalties? I wonder if anybody can know that answer at this point, or will court battles ensue.... also to answer your question...both. cheers
ОтветитьI’m a musician and software developer. Basically I’d be starting over in terms of building a brand - but I’m wondering how I can leverage being an electro pop trumpet player who happens to be the founder of a video game start-up.
I want to build a community around the game we’re building and have fun marketing the product using my image and music/acting background…
Curious to know your thoughts on how I can do this in an effective way.
Hey Damian, is your course for hip hop artists also ? Thank you for all your great content! Been watching your content for a while now I didn’t realize I wasn’t subbed my bad !
ОтветитьMy biggest ROI is giving feedback and mastering services. Started doing them to a friend of mine and then later decided to jump into Fiverr to offer these services, tbh, I haven't made too much $ but still more money than royalties. I would love to generate income from performing as a DJ too 😃
ОтветитьU selling a course? So how do I believe anything u are saying???
ОтветитьBelieve it or not our No 1 return in investment is CDs.
Ответитьnever heard a venue line called a "queue" lol interesting
ОтветитьBit different for producers.
Ответитьthis is good, more money vids
Ответитьthis one feels really valuable i was never seeing this way.
ОтветитьWhile I wouldn't say streaming is wasted effort, I gotta say these feel like far better options to get some decent revenue. I'm just concerned we'll end up like the Danebury Metal Detecting Club and have box-fulls of fleeces that no-one buys :D (Detectorists reference there, if you didn't know!) Cheers Damian.
ОтветитьGreat video Damian, man this is a tough one. I make most of my money from gigs and teaching right now and that's not so much. Some people here in Kenya though have made a killing of online concerts from the comfort of their home but I need to invest in some good equipment to do that. I think that's where I want to go with it. Online performances because I know everyone here loves watching live music but not necessarily going out to watch it. Put a lot into perspective for me and where I'm going to invest my money. Thanks
ОтветитьFor now it's streaming but I'm making cents ...got followers but I have no fans ...it's annoying, but I'm gonna get there one day, I'll have an army ...
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьDoesn’t mean he’s a musician. Most rappers aren’t musicians. Mad respect for the few that are.
ОтветитьStreaming 🤩
ОтветитьLive performances, podcasting and teaching Voice and Drums.
ОтветитьDefinitely focusing on my Patreon again!
ОтветитьThe most money I have made from music was playing 8 gigs on Saint Patrick’s days drumming for a bagpipe band.
ОтветитьIsn’t this putting the cart before the horse? Most people don’t have an audience to capitalise on anything like this.
ОтветитьThanks for the info, I've got some homework to do especially on NFTs I still don't really understand them.
