Linda Ann Fredericks, also known as Linda Lewis (27 September 1950 – 3 May 2023), was an English singer, songwriter, and musician with a remarkable music career. Influenced by her mother, a jazz singer, she entered the music world and achieved recognition with the Northern Soul single ""You Turned My Bitter into Sweet"" after signing with Polydor. Linda Lewis collaborated with notable artists like David Bowie and Cat Stevens, and her genre-blending music and five-octave vocal range earned her critical acclaim in the 1970s. After a hiatus, she made a triumphant comeback, performing at festivals and inspiring with her extraordinary voice. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 72 in May 2023, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful music.
