we also love Cobra Paw and Sticky Chameleons :)
ОтветитьI’d also recommend Dragon’s Breath. We have fun with that one here with my 5 year old. It’s another HABA game.
ОтветитьAnimal Upon Animal has worked very well for me before
ОтветитьFor me, The best 'not a children's game' that can be played with the smallest ages of children, AND with the benefit of grown-ups not having an advantage on them (at all, in most cases) is the card game 'illusion'. I'm able to explain it to a 4-5 year old child, and I play with them almost as equals (certainly at ages 6+).
Also, I'm guessing it wasn't in the list because of how out of print it sadly is, but 'Gulo Gulo' is right up there with the rest of them. Mainly because, as you yourself said once, kids actually have the advantage, with their little fingers. So it's even more challenging for adults.
Looping Louie is THE party game in Germany! Lots of shots involved there... 😁
ОтветитьI really like Looney Quest, also with just adults 😇
ОтветитьMy Little Scythe and Pitch Car being left out seem like huge oversights.
ОтветитьI sent Dragomino to my 5 year old niece for Christmas. Her family wasn't much into boardgames, but now, they're all playing Dragomino together: Grandpa, grandma, dad and mom...oh, and the 5 year old.
ОтветитьFlick of faith for sure.
ОтветитьAny adults here also love a playing CATACOMBS OF KARAK?
ОтветитьI for one always sing the praises of Ghost Fighting Treasure Hunters, especially with the Creepy Cellar expansion, I've played almost 400 different games, and it is among my top 15 of all time. So much fun, so many stand up moments right at the end as you are rushing to get out of the house while hoping you don't get another outbreak err, haunting. Just great and surprisingly strategic.
I would add giro galloppo, viva topo, and the advanced side of Monza. These are all games that have been regularly requested by our adult friends with the occasional drink or 3.
ОтветитьThanks for this list, I would love to see a "my first __" list too. Kids/intro versions of bigger games (like dragomino & my little scythe)
ОтветитьDexterity/speed games work well in this category:
Icecool
Coconuts
Spot it
Strategy Games with kid themes:
My Little Scythe
Via Magica
Fantastic list, Tom! Very helpful!
ОтветитьNo Battlin tops?
ОтветитьI fully agree with most of the choices and might agree with the ones I did not played. Great fun! Chicken Cha Cha also works but my Top 5 Re already on Tom's list.
ОтветитьGuessing before the list- Rhino Hero Super Battle update: got it
ОтветитьZombie Kidz Evolution is pretty solid
ОтветитьBetter pick up some Looping Louie
ОтветитьAnimal upon animal is my #1 on this category even before the start of the video.
ОтветитьTrotofant by Haba is a blast
ОтветитьI love and everybody I showed it to love Captain Silver
ОтветитьTales & games the hare and the tortoise
Sticky chameleons
Costa Rica reveal the rainforest
These are definitely games that kids will like but I see adults playing without kids.
@DiceTower what about Cat Tower? It’s like Rhino tower but with kitties
ОтветитьI agree with the dexterity comment - Tom has suggested Ice Cool, but don't forget Crokinole or PitchCar! Also consider Men At Work!
ОтветитьI want to see a Luigi’s Mansion version of Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters
ОтветитьI know adults who refuse to play Ghost Fighting not because it is a kids game but because it gives them anxiety. Lol
Ответитьi must confess i sometimes make fun of Tom's unlikely Top10s but this one is a great addition imo !
ОтветитьOutfoxed, Race for the Treasure, Busytown, and Sequence for Kids have been hits in my house over the years.
ОтветитьLooping Louie and BEER!!!
ОтветитьGreat list, Tom. I'm familiar with all of them, and played with both kids and adults. If I may add one other game it's Sticky Chameleons.
ОтветитьI don’t know if Brick Party is a children’s game, but it does look like it, and boy!, is it fun to play with adults. And I totally agree with Dr. Eureka and Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters: great adult children’s games.
ОтветитьHi Tom, love the show! What about Fireball Island??
ОтветитьI'm surprised Stuffed Fables was not on this list, although it was a little fiddly for me and my kids. I'm looking for forward to CoraQuest!
ОтветитьMy 5yo has about 30 games now and the one I look forward to playing the most is “dungeon mayhem”! It’s just good simple fun.
Karak and dragonwood are up there too!
Mole rats in space is in my top 10...a very fun (and more interesting !) take on Snakes & ladders from Mr "Pandemic" Matt Leacock? Highly recommended ! works great with kids as from 5yrs old
ОтветитьDid you consider My Little Scythe?
ОтветитьGreat list, but lack of Zombie Kidz makes me sad. :(
ОтветитьThanks for this list Tom. Very helpful in setting up a board game club for young kids
ОтветитьNo one in my group has Kids, but I do have Rhino Hero! haha Such a fun game.
ОтветитьI bought Rhino Hero specifically to play with my niece but my regular gaming group spotted it and asked what it was and we played 4 games of it that night. Has become a regular palate cleanser in between our bigger games ever since. Going from Terraforming Mars to Rhino Hero to Inis is quite a varied and fun night!
ОтветитьI need like a top 100 of kids games!!!!!
ОтветитьWhat a great list! We have a lot of these great games already and now I have a few more to add to my Christmas wishlist 😁
ОтветитьIs Klondike the Haba game mentioned where the players sift for gold?
ОтветитьThey should have junk art for kids
ОтветитьJungle speed!
ОтветитьNo Gamewright games? They are my go to for kids games that fine make me want to bang my head against the wall. Outfoxed, Trash Pandas, even sleeping queens for a simple card game. I've been eyeing dragonwood as well.
ОтветитьSo made this list to soon. Want a light dungeon crawler, CoraQuest!!
ОтветитьI needed this list today.. thanks for all your hard work at the dice tower fellas! These videos are highly appreciated!
