Just noticed how Winston seemed more casual and detailed in telling of his situation of his last razor blade to Syme compared to Parsons.
ОтветитьParson's fatass rationing all the food!
ОтветитьGeorge Orwell was a socialist
ОтветитьI have been using the same blade for months...
ОтветитьThis is literally western civilization in modern times. No one can speak their minds or name the problem 😅
ОтветитьDocumentary about russia today ???
ОтветитьWatching this after listening to the audible. Would definitely recommend
ОтветитьSunak's Britain
ОтветитьPeople in north korea would envy these people.
ОтветитьSpontaneous demonstrations have erupted all over the nation to thank the Tory Party for the 40 new hospitals to be built.
ОтветитьI wouldn't survive in the world of 1984. I spend too much time in my head
Ответитьthe thing about syme is that he agrees with the party but he knows too much which in the case of 1984 literally means that he is too intelligent and "speaks too plainly" it sort of reminds me of a scene in cloud atlas where someone is going on about how "the weak are meat and the strong do eat" and some supporter of like slavery and colonialism is offended by this he doesnt actually disagree with it in a sense but he has lied to himself to make himself think that what he is doing is right and Christian even and so he dislikes hearing the reality behind something like slavery expressed so plainly and made to sound so obviously evil
ОтветитьV for vendetta was better movie. 1984 is a better book
ОтветитьThe wild part of 1984 is that many people think it's about fascist-like states. It's not - it's about communist-like states. People forget that it was radical leftist brought socialism and communism that did exactly these things. It's active today with cancel culture, gender-free speak, and rabid oppression of anyone that thinks differently. It's is a hallmark of the socialist countries in the 1900's (North Korea, China, Russia, etc) and today. It can happen just as quickly under the left as the right.
ОтветитьI never thought i would see Mr. Galloway in 1984
ОтветитьJa pierdole. Ta książka to takie mistrzostwo. Film nigdy tego nie odda, ale fajnie czasem powrócić do tego klimatu.
ОтветитьLooks like the mess hall was filmed in a car park or something.
ОтветитьSyme is such a gluttonous bootlick
Ответитьtfw no plusgood wife to do duty to the party with
ОтветитьI hate to say this. There are way too many useful idiots in the United States and Canada that it appears we're on a head on collision with 1984.
ОтветитьWhatever they're eating, it can't possibly be good, let alone nourishing. As for Parsons' remark about the meat. If it looks and tastes like meat, then I'm pretty sure it's meat.
ОтветитьWow this is literally what Obama tried to do until Leader Trump bravely arm-wrestled him into submission and quadrupled our fruc rations.
ОтветитьI read that book in 1984 when I was 13 years old. Devastating experience. I was expecting something like Captain Future or Buck Rogers but no, there was Winston Smith. Filled with curiosity I read the whole book in a mere week. Amazed by that dystopian version of the same year I was living at. This movie was a very good adaptation. Too bad they discarded the wonderful Eurythmics' soundtrack. Skinny Puppy sampled this list progress reading on one of their early tracks (it can be found on Back & Forth Vol. 3 - 4).
ОтветитьSomething that gets me about the annoucer on the video-screens and dictatorships IRL such as North Korea is the metric of productivity. 5.1 million tractors I think is stated here. So what? Were there 4.9 million last year and 4.7 the year before? What are we doing with all these supposed tractors?! I know they probably don't exist and if they did it's all planned waste of productivity but still it's ridiculous what propagandists try to force feed people.
And sad what some people accept.
"No meat in this" huh
ОтветитьOrwell predicted zoom calls.
ОтветитьI see that face of a stare and I see some dipshit like Biden, Barry, or Hildebeast. Selling us away for their benefit and the only option is make us slaves. 🤣 But Trump is LITERALLY Hitler.
Ответитьfan va ångest å bo me dem
ОтветитьGregor Fisher trying desperately to suppress his real accent.
ОтветитьWhat is discouraging is that they still eat. When a person can no longer eat, then it will get real...
ОтветитьChciałbym być jak ten Pan tylko też mieć zapewnione luksusowe dobra
ОтветитьHow could anyone want this miserable future?
ОтветитьThe subtitles just don't work for Newspeak. Double Plus Good doesn't easily translate. I suppose that's sort of the point tho
ОтветитьWho knew that this would be our future, but with a rainbow flag instead of big brother. Good+ film.
Ответитьhalf a Hershey Bar? YESSSSSSS!!!!! ALL HAIL BIG BROTHER!
Ответитьat least their version isnt gay, we'll get to this level eventually, but it will somehow be WORSE in reality. An effeminate, gynocratic dystopia.
Lord have mercy on us
Note how the one thing there is no “shortage” of is alcohol.
ОтветитьLook how happy they are for 25 grams of chocolate!
ОтветитьA vegan paradise of continued language destruction and confusion. Fiction is fun.
ОтветитьMe, living under capitalism:
Wait, these people have free housing, free food, free boose, free fitness classes...
And this is a dystopian future!?
Such an amazing adaptation. There's so much allusion to fascism even just in this scene.
ОтветитьThis is what it feels like when I can’t play Fortnite
ОтветитьThis movie is pretty fun, but it becomes laughable when you think about how the CIA published the book for years and how many Americans truly believe this is the aspiration of socialism lol
ОтветитьWild how many didn’t read the book but write paragraphs about today, in which doing so the literal antithesis of the world they’re in
ОтветитьPerhaps the processed meat they're eating is derived from executed prisoners and dissidents.
ОтветитьThey predicted peloton
Ответить"It's a beautiful thing the destruction of words" Oh yeah this hits home hard.. fk the commies.
ОтветитьDouble plus good. 🍫
