The Most Boring Rolex: the Datejust 41

Not sure if I’d say ‘boring.’ More like understated and traditional. This watch is iconic. Love mine.

Its strength is that it's subtle. It doesn't attract the wrong attention. It's timeless and classy. You know what's on your wrist and that's all you need.

Fluted bezel would change this … lol

people with class choose a rolex that is subdued, a submariner for example is so tacky nowadays.. its worn more by car salesmen and gym fanatics then normal people. a smooth besel DJ41 is the way to go if you want a quality timepiece that last you a lifetime with a design that never goes out of style.

Totally wrong! There is nothing boring about them, they look amazing - especially the blue dial. Really stands out and pops.
The watch is not actually 41mm if you measure it as you stste, it comes out at just under 40mm.
METAS is 0 to +5, not +6.
Also, the smooth bezel looks better thsn fluted IMO (although that is subjective)

For me is a great dream watch. Completely disagree calling DJ 41 "boring"

I have the 41 azzuri blue dial, roman numerals, on a jubilee. Smooth bezel. My problem is that i like the smooth bezel, clean and less iconic so i can wear it in summer without worry. But i also like the fluted bezel and will probably end up buying that one too, for when i want a bit more flashy or in winter when it is mostly hidden under my coat. Best part of this watch is the comfort imho. I have an omega dive watch because i actually use it in water which i wld not do with a sub, so 2 x datejust it will be! Also i miss the date on watches that don’t have one, so eventhough i like the airking and millgaus … those are not everyday pieces for me.

These bracelets look like they will fit the new 41mm Sub. Can you check?

I agree on the comments you made about the size: the 41 is just the most basic thing you could buy without thinking about what you're doing. A 36 is deliberate choice, and if I may say so: the better one too.

I think the blue dial just looks amazing. It would be something to wear on a night out on the town. Not sure I'd daily any Rolex just because it's a car on your wrist due to cost.

This was a terrible and lazy take. usually your vids are well thought out. To take arguably the most iconic and popular watch model ever and say it’s boring is “clickbaity.” I kept waiting for the point you were trying to make? It’s almost like saying all those points/runs/putts that Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Barry Bonds, and Tiger Woods made were just all so boring. Come on man, you’re better than this.

Boring I think is the wrong word, it’s a negative take. A more accurate word would be ‘original’. No one gets angry at a standard set of bicycle cards or a vintage 911 Porsche or a classic set of aviator sunglasses. They are all boring? No, original classics, the timeless choice.

If you ask the average Joe what they think of when they think of Rolex they most certainly think of either the sub or the GMT style of watch. In other words, if you had a watch lineup and remived the logos, then asked average people to pick a rolex, 95 percent would pick tue sub or gmt.

The reason grand seiko require more often services is because their watches moves at 10 ticks per second or about 36.000 vph

Omega METAS is 0 to +5 seconds per day, not 6. My METAS Speedmaster when checked over the first 6 months was +0.4 spd. Impressive!

I will take my $200 Tissot PR50 automatic over either of these rolex

what you have to ask yourself is that for £8k could i buy a better more interesting watch from still a luxury swiss watch manf, or do i prefer to pay a couple of grand extra for a basic watch just to have the name "rolex" on it.......

The Jubilee and domed bezel combo is stunning. Jubilee with fluted too busy IMO.

The date just that you were wearing. Surelyvis boring, but not the blue dial the Greendale, the fluted bezel the mother, a pro face. You're missing the mark here you're talking about a boring watch but you own a boring watch lol. In fact, when you put it next to even the smooth muscle blue Dial datejust, it gives your particular datejust with the white dial 52 swift kick in the ass LMAO.
