No small wonder why the 350 isn't worth anything.

My 350 small block runs best with 12° initial timing and 36° total timing running on mid grade gas with AFR 190 heads and holly 650 spread bore with light springs in the vacuum secondary

350SBC in my 91 C1500. 325,000 miles and still runs great. Oil changes every 3000 miles using wix filters. Napa Gold is a rebranded wix. Last year I finally had to replace the distributor when the plastics in the hall sensor broke up. Easy to replace distributor and reset timing. Still running strong. Can`t beat the longevity of a well maintained 350.

Mr.Nick, GM has made some good engines, I've run in-line 6 250, 283, 327, and several 350's no problems or complaints, and a Dodge 318, now the Chevy SB has a rear main oil leak problem if you seat them right and put a dab of sealant, they will leak, glad to see you run a Chevy on your dyno, good video see you next time.

All that time wasted with the broken timing lights !!! Lol Im surprised at nicks age he needs the timing kight as most good mechanics just advance the timing for maximum power without any obviouse knock or pre ignition.. The factory settings are useless when your running different heads cams and carburetors so going by the book with a timing light is a complete waste of time ...

We know Nick did this, but for DIY'ers, better mention in the video to check the oil before any starting, breaking in or dyno work.

I have owned them all. I will take the 400 crank and the 350 block. Best combo out there. Us Pontiac guys know that combo was great in the 389 days. That 3.750 stroke is a sweet street set up.

Hi Nick, why would you hook up the vacuum advance? When you’re running the engine at wide open throttle you don’t have any vacuum and then you’re gonna get a higher reading when it’s sitting idling I don’t understand. I know to vacuum advances for driving on the road and stuff like that, but if you’re gonna use it on a dyno , why would you hook it up? Makes no sense to me.

My favorite engine and trust me it was hard to admit the 327 was actually a better motor or I wouldn’t even say that but equal to the 350. The 327 came out it 1961 and still used today 64 years later. Of course some changes on the motor as technology would come in but it actually has more horsepower and better built than the originals

Why don't you use a laser thermometer to check the headers instead of a spray water bottle? Plus it gives you individual reading on each exhaust port.
