Can't really cry traitor can we? We fully embraced Sol Campbell and love that he stuck it to Totterinham. But if we were in their position, we'd crying about it to this day. Kind of how they still are, poor losers.

Football fans these days judge players nowadays by either stats or by either by how much some players dribble. I mean I don't really get this hate against Bellingham. He can score, assist, build up attacks, has fantastic mentality and even defends and wins balls, running up and down the pitch. I mean, what do these ppl who have nothing else to do but bash players, actually mean and what do they even watch.

In Arsenal fans mind, a player is suppose to stay loyal to the club no matter what. Once a player leaves, he's a traitor. Just like Adebayor, Ashley Cole, Van Persie, Clichy and the list is endless.

i think a lot of football fans forget that for some players this shit is literally just a job. i’m sure to the fans it looks like betrayal but to some players moving from one club to another for a pay raise is no different than when we move jobs because one offers more benefits or pay

@Kanbei11
@Kanbei11 - 25.01.2025 04:11

I don't count any player as a traitor. Clubs don't have the same loyalty to players as players are expected to have to clubs. To the clubs their players are assets in much the same way chicken is to KFC.

It should be normalised for players to look out for themselves in the same way as any other employee. Bogarde at Chelsea is a great example, he was offered a very good contract and chose to enforce the terms of it yet he's seen with disdain for adhering to the terms of his contract

Ответить
@kuyt20
@kuyt20 - 25.01.2025 09:35

Players are free to go where either the money, the title chances or climate suits them, provided they don't resort to tactics like refusing to honor their contract terms.

I get why club supporters would despise their best players leaving for greener pastures. But its just how the professional world works, not just in football.

People expect footballers to put their life on the line for their club when most couldn't care less and just think of it as a regular job to get paid. I don't get why a French player suddenly has to throw away a career/life changing opportunity just to satisfy some nobodies in another country he doesn't care about 🤷‍♂️ A job is a job at the end of the day and we don't know his relationships with the players/club enough to know how attached he was
