Actually something I discussed with my old WoW guild a number of years a go was something like this. Think I coined it 'HC Levelling' or something. They dismissed it. Seems Lotro implemented it and it's loved by the entire MMO community and yea, I'm installing it right now to have a look at it.
Ответитьfallout 76 had level based enemies day one
ОтветитьTo be fair Black Desert has already been doing this for some time now
ОтветитьMassive yawn. That's still lazy work imo. Totally uncreative, not many games did this not because they didn't think of it before... but because it's stupid and doesn't add any fun, just delays the player with more HP on the mobs and stuff like, which is pointless. Games need new mechanics, not more hp/dmg on mobs.
ОтветитьThe leveling was the biggest issue I had in lotro. There is so much story to see and I was easily able to over level things and it became so tedious. This sounds so awesome I might have to re-download this game.
ОтветитьBruh this isnt new....they do this shit in SOO many MMO's. it's nothing groundbreaking. click bait
Ответитьsooo muuuuch taaaalking
Ответитьfor the record, this was added with the King's Gondor expansion, which came out summer 2023, rather than Before the Shadow, which released October 2022
ОтветитьNo it didn’t
ОтветитьI feel like Guild Wars 2 isn't bad at all in this regard, since there is scaling and a ton of reasons to go back to base game maps. There is also a continuous stream of new players, so starting areas are always well populated.
ОтветитьAs a lotro veteran, I can't tell you how much it warms my heart to see this game being talked about. It has years and years of incredible content just waiting for new players to enjoy. This game, in particular, benefits from group content. It is a group game. I lt was never meant to be played as a solo game. Some of my best memories are from playing this game with my friends. I look forward to checking it out again
ОтветитьThe difficulty is really nice, however the lag makes me hesitant to play at a high difficulty solo since one bad bout of lag at the wrong time and I'm dead. And death = delete for me :'D
Ответитьare the expansions also free or only the base game is free?
ОтветитьDiablo 4 had done it at its release too, its called "tier"... You need to go out more
ОтветитьI bought a lifetime subscription in 2011 and still play now but along with my 11 year old son...we run together through the game as 2 Dwarves who are brothers 😊
Ответитьi installed this yesterday, yes its oldschool, but its kinda fun for old people like me ^.^
ОтветитьIt's so annoying that in every MMO forum you post this idea you get shat on. Everyone says it can't be done.
Yes, of course it can. Just like they said Classic WoW couldn't be done. Or Hardcore. They just need to put in some effort.
I would LOVE to see this in ESO.
Great system! Now playing SWTOR, I have to create an adventure for myself, making it more interesting - disabling or bringing companions into passive mode. Going solo (or with a companion) heroics or flashpoints. But with such a system, it has become much more interesting!
ОтветитьGrouping up is considered new??? Sorry but Warhammer MMO did that back in 2008 in Age of Reckoning and the private server Return of Reckoning continues it. From Character creation you are encouraged to group up in PvE as well as PvP. From running quests to public quests, to killing the enemy, the 2-2-2 group has been a staple.
For you LoTRO players that are new to this concept the 2-2-2 is 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 2 dps, and this is the secret to beating bosses in dungeons, adventures, and pvp.
Welcome to the group mechanics LOTRO. Just because you are last does not mean you are least. :)
(don't recommend channel) click
ОтветитьIn other MMOPGs this is called world scaling, City of heroes had a mentor and sidekick system that scaled low level players up to max level to play with high level friends in end game content as well as lowering max level players to low levels to play with lowbies in their low level content. DDO even has a system almost identical to this called reaper mode and its been out for several years. Lotro aint doing anything new or revolutionary, They are just presenting it in a slightly different way.
ОтветитьIf I start playing this today, would I find people to play/talk to? How lively is the population?
ОтветитьMore hit points an more damage does not = fun. What it does equal is lazy
ОтветитьMy favorite game ever <3 been playing since 2012, it's so nice to see developers actually caring about the players
ОтветитьMy biggest issue with LOTRO is the same with DnDO. Having to buy a sub to give access to half the quests just isn't a great system. The first area of the game shouldnt have quests blocked by paywalls. Like I'm all about paying a sub, but hook me in first.. Let me to get lvl 10-15 then ask me if I want a sub.. I've tried the game a few times now, but the areas feel empty with no players and the game is a little janky. If there was a fresh server I think I'd be down
ОтветитьI do not like the traits system. When they change the ridiculous trait leveling, i might go back. I left of at lvl 80.
ОтветитьI like the concept but the death = delete idea is just plain dumb, I mean unless you enjoy having your balls in a vice that is then I guess it's not so bad.
ОтветитьThey did this with special servers in Lotro over a year ago and it was great. I added some personal challenges which enhanced the fun for myself. In addition to increasing the difficulty I also hid all of the health bars (now every hit from any NPC could be my last), hid the compass (I would use the sun and mood) and the map (I read the quest descriptions and used the clues to find my way around the world). It took a little bit of work to adjust the UI to hide everything but it really opened up the world for me. Also, no chat, though I could talk to anyone I could see in the world.
ОтветитьStar Trek Online did this but it wasn't as fleshed out.
ОтветитьIve been saying for a while that MMOs need to be completely soloable but made in a way that its more beneficial the more people you play with . This is a good thing.
ОтветитьComplainers are the reason games fall apart, this system shouldn't have anyone complaining. And the people who don't play the game because of there skill issue and wanting a game they don't have to pay for to look like some polished diamond can bug off too. Thr gamr will grow and outlast any game made in "modern" days
ОтветитьI hate when MMOs push paid level-ups or bury original content just because its aged. The most fun I have with a game is usually when I first start playing it and replaying the early game is one of my favorite things to do. I paid for this game, why are you burying the content? WoW is terrible now, it's not even recognizable to me anymore and I literally waited outside of Best Buy for 7 hours to get an original collectors edition copy.
ОтветитьThe drama!
ОтветитьAbout to download and give it a try if anyone wants to party up !
ОтветитьThis is the oposite of what I like XD I like it easy and with good rewards lol I hate dying and starting over lol
ОтветитьI tried LOTRO 3 weeks ago, my only other time playing it was around a decade ago and I really didn't love it back then. I don't know what changed but I've been on everyday I'm not at work for like 10 hours a day. I saw this difficulty thing and assumed it was some end game mechanic, going to jack everything up to A MILLION tonight and get smoked by a pig. Community has been really great, still don't have any friends or know what I'm actually doing but just hit 70 hunter/40 rune keeper
ОтветитьLOTRO is amazing game
Ответитьmeh... what I'd really like is a more streamlined main storyline experience. maybe bit of voice over etc to get me from the shire to mordor with my friends that isn't overly grindy.
ОтветитьThis isn't new.
ОтветитьDid you move on the leveling group?? I’d join!!
ОтветитьWow, that's awesome.
ОтветитьLotro already changed the mmo landscape with the inclusion of /smoke. I come back from time to time to just /smoke and watch the scenery.
Ответитьlove the game but cant the server latency is terrible
ОтветитьSuch a simple thing to add difficulty slider to overworld game yet so good.
ОтветитьI thought this was an existing system already implemented years ago an the server Treebeard?
Ответитьwith LOTRO I've never been that interested in end game. I'm happy to spend most time in the Shire, Bree, and Rivendell ;)
ОтветитьAnother great video 😊
