this was a good program, as always you bring much information and both the differing views when they occur. My interest is the early farmers, Anatolian Early Farmers and the migrations into Europe, and all that may conceal or mean. Such as the Vinca culture and the early use of copper, but also those of Crete and probably early proto Greece folk, Mycenae etc. in which case, if these peoples were of similar back ground, regardless of the time between, could they have had a similar language, or close enough that they could find communications easy. There has always been a mixing of blood and dna where ever man has roamed, and the early Farmers were not the only folk to venture to the islands or Crete, however they were part of the story and may have been a large percentage of the early story. BTW the eruption of Thera, via some plant life carbon dating, I understood to be close to the date 1627 BCE Also a thought on the female statue and possible rulers, in early Farmer cultures it is common to find female goddess statues and carvings, probably stemming from the fact of fertility and life coming from the body of the woman, as did life come from Mother Earth when seeds have been planted within, etc. And this fact of birth and life was very important to the early Farmers, hince the importance of the Mother Goddess, here on Crete the culture had evolved into a civilization stemming from its origin via Anatolian Farmers.

one possible origin for the term philistine is Fili Estia - the tribe of the hearth , which is one thing that they use to differentiate settlements in the Levant as the Philistine settlements would have them. You are also correct about the Greek/Minoan + Canaanite mix being the Philistines. They have tested remains found in the area nad it seems the early arrivals were mostly Greek in origin but after 150 years or so they had "went native" and they were Canaanites that were culturally Greek. This could be explained by mainly men landing to take over an area and taking local women as wives.

I think by "civilization" you mean highcultures. I believe the term civilization has been dropped by historiens because it is so broad.(i`m no expert tho, just a fan of history)

I find it interesting the myth of Atlantis was destroyed by a volcano and earthquake. Atlantis had a goddess. Plus, it was the size of Libya and Asia combined. Minoans traded from Libya(Egypt) and asia minor. The Minoans influence was the same size of the Atlantis continental size. The only thing is the straight of Gibraltar and the Atlantic. You obviously have not read/ investigated the Oera Linda Bok.....Minnos the law giver was a Frisian Sea King & Highly experienced leader who by emigration brought the ancient wisdom culture and technology and trade to the region enabling the rapid maturation and development and respective influence. Same book sheds MUCH needed light on many other ancient mysteries wspecially with respect to the founding of Athens and rise of Athenian age.
