GLP-1 Medications & Lipedema: Insights from Our First Study Webinar

I have lipedema and started glp therapy along with a keto diet and it has been a game changer. 100% life changing.

I would be curious to try a GLP-1 to see if it helps with my Lipedema, but I know my insurance doesn't cover them for off label diagnosis. They don't cover weight loss drugs either. If funding was available to help with the drug cost for the study, I would be happy to participate!😊 I am finding some pain relief from duloxetine, but that doesn't address the inflammation.

How do we join the study?

I tried ozempic ,6 months. Lost weight
Then it stopped. Quit. Gained back more. I have lipedema highest stage.

I have Lipedema and am on Mounjaro as I’m also type 2 diabetic. I have noticed it does definitely help my inflammation and Lipedema.

I was on Mounjaro for a little over a year. It really helped with inflammation and weight loss. My insurance company decided to no longer cover the medication in February. I have been unable to afford it without coverage and have gained back the weight plus more. I needed this to help with my mobility issues.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 lipedema/lymphedema in June 2023. I do not need to lose weight but am extremely interested in reducing inflammation. I feel excessive swelling mid day and moreso after exercising. I have a very rigorous maintenance schedule to keep it manageable. This has greatly impacted my previous daily routine and social life. Would I be considered to be a candidate in this study?

I have heard both good and bad side effects with it. The inflammation reduction sounds great.
