I agree with you that Endgame is better than Infinity War. This is probably an unpopular opinion but i think that Infinity War is a little overrated and Endgame is a little underrated.

I’m glad to see someone else as invested in the world of cinema as me. I’m also going through the IMDB top 100, about a third of the way through (mine is a bit different from the recent one)

Pity this was done just right around the time "Come And See" dropped out of the top 100, it was 84 or somewhere around there and suddenly plummeted 20 spots, it's now climbing back up though. It would have been a great one to hear your thoughts on.

Dubbed anime is fine, you should get into more anime.

I was ready to fervently defend Harakiri after the ridiculous treatment of Once Upon a time in America and the West. Always happy to see people acknowledge the awesomeness of Harakiri. Anyways, the IMDB list is trash. Sight And Sound has a more accurate list.

Infinity War is superior to End Game, but I don't think a Marvel film is top 100 material and Aliens (1986) kicks ass.

I don't place much value in the IMDB top 100 for one thing most of the later date films are skewed to high. For instance it would not be a meaningful top ten without Citizen Kane and the General which I consider to be masterpieces.

currently going through all best picture winners as I think it is a great way to see how cinema has evolved over the years but when completed I shall be adding in those that should have won which didn't.

Make sure you watched the right version of Once Upon a Time in America! The theatrical version was butchered by the studios. The directors cut was a lot better. It's still not an easy watch, but it's a lot better than a 4.whatever! I'm not a big Leone fanboy either, it's probably a 7.5/8 on my list, but there are plenty of things to love about this one. De Niro is in prime form, the cinematography is glorious! Leone has a tendency for meandering, and the ending is a bit vague – not to mention the sheer brutality of certain scenes, but the right version gets better with each viewing. It's a gangster film that doesn't hold back in order to glorify anything about "the life," but somehow manages to make these terrible creeps relatable by way of immersive storytelling. It's definitely worth watching (the proper version) again, once you get the taste out of your mouth.

Nice review but 3 idiots aint just a comedy. It critiques the indian education system and the expectations the parents have from their child. Its film doing commentary on serious issues such as suicide, academic pressure. A film which motivates students to follow their passion rather than doing something which their parents force them to do. In my opinion 3 idiots is the best Bollywood film ever made.

Excuse me? Did you really just say that Saving Private Ryan is a pro-war film?
So the scene where we see the experiences of dying men, men crying for their moms, men tortured and mutilated, torn to pieces, is pro war? What about Wade and anyone else’s deaths? Did you even freaking watch the movie?
Also the complaints about movies like Once Upon a Time in the West is absolutely idiotic. Yes, the woman was treated like trash, but she was a prostitute. Back in that era, prostitutes were treated exactly as they saw themselves. And she was the crux of the story to men fighting evils by being evil, that is the point of it being a deconstruction of the western drama. I don’t think you even watched these movies if THIS was what you came up with

Great list!!! I'm nearly finished with my IMDb top 250, with only 17 movies to go. Anyhow, it is fun to see you put so much weight on historical significance. As a film/media student myself I only want to rate the movie based on the movie itself and not its importance since I feel that would blur my opinion. I know The Bicycle Thief is really important with the neorealist cinema movement, but the movie itself is in my opinion, realy really boring which is why I only gave it a 5/10. Keep up the good work.
