hey man great video as always, what should i buy the e5 2640 v3 or v4 version although they are the same price and using those chinesse motherboards and i'm mainly going to play games that focuses on the single core performance like cs go, so what do you recommend the v3 or the v4?

For fucks sake Miyconst, FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE can you do a benchmark without turbo-unlocking Xeon's? 90 % of all the world's X99 motherboard users still use branded X99 motherboards, not these third party aliexpress boards. And even those who use aliexpress x99 boards, the majority of them don't bother with the turbo-unlock. You are really targeting a small population of people with these benchmarks, mostly enthusiasts. Non the less your work is impressive.

Привіт. Якщо чесно ти заплутав мене. Тільки що я дивився відео е5 2640v3 і і5 10400 і там було більше ігор і більш інформативно. Але щойно я переглянув р5 3600 і е5 2640v3 це було необєктивно. Було мало ігор і якась путаниця. Я записав на листку всі ігри і їх фпс...і хотів просто побачити різницю 3600 і 10400. Будь ласка зроби правильне та інформативне відео. Дякую

To be fair I can get the E5 2640 v3 with a motherboard, 16gb of ddr4 ram, slap a cooler on top of that and the price will be the same as one Ryzen 5 3600, gonna get a GTX 960 2gb version and then I think for my poor self it's going to be perfect.

The 2640v3 is 40€ cpu the 3600 is 190€ cpu ! Is definitli beter but is 4 tim more expanciv !!! Is simple if you have 340€ for cpu+ram+mb go on 3600 .. if you have 170€ go on 2640v3 ...the amd is 10-20% faster But 200% mor expensiv and for mi cpu for 40€ is not logic if you use nvidia 2070-2080 or 3070-80-90 .... the 2060s 8gb is just the max for the 2640v3 😁😁😁

I think the E5-2620 would have been a better comparison for the Ryzen 5 3600 due to the core count and the relative 100MHz difference in clock speed. Still, great video!

If you ignore the comparison to the newer PC hardware, it's still very capable at gaming in 2021 at 60-100fps.

Not worth it, better buy new r5 2600 which will be better in everything and better over time as well with modern cpu instructions and option to upgrade than sit on 6 years old cpu with the same old ram and wait when it suddenly die. Old mobo also or new noname from china.

Am not sure if am thinking correctly but I have 1 suggestion for you to try for optimal Xeon Quad Channel on 2640.

The chip has a max memory bandwidth of 59Gb/s but the build's memory configuration puts it slightly above that at 59.7Gb/s. Is it possible that the frame drops are a result of overhead from the excess data flooding cache, or possible readdressing of data?

Interested in you findings if you retest. Am suggesting 1800Mhz even though its well under the Xeons bandwidth.

nice but if one can get a used Xeon E5-2640 V3, more likely a Ryzen 5 3500x is also available which is only bit more expensive could perform better in lightly threaded loads

XEON's performance is not weak, just use it enough, and overclock the memory. The current processor performance is surplus, and the bottleneck is in memory
