ОтветитьVery nice video 😊
ОтветитьAre the hens and chicks deer resistant?
ОтветитьI wish I could see your plants. There is a black banner with what you are already saying across the screen, so I can't see anything.
ОтветитьI love you're garden

ОтветитьWhat kind of soil or potting mix do they prefer?
ОтветитьHes so cute
ОтветитьI bought these last year and planted them in the ground. I think their location meets all the required conditions but they have been slow to grow. There are a few babies, but I am hoping they get larger this season.
ОтветитьI’m in Colorado & I have lots of hens & chickens & the way u show them are a great idea…. I love succulents - show some more succulents - different varieties .. so we can grow different things .I love how u explain things …
ОтветитьI live in zone 9, can they survive here?
ОтветитьI live in Vermont, zone 5, and it's December. The temps are in the 20's & 30's, but it will get much colder in the coming months. Is it okay to transplant them outdoors now or should I wait until spring?
ОтветитьDeer love them also … unfortunately.
ОтветитьI have an indoor pot of Hen and Chick. How is it best to care for it. Some of them have dried leaves, should they be removed? Chick's are everywhere. How often and how much do I water them? Thx C
ОтветитьI love hens and chicks. I have 2 but they are droopy but 1 is actually growing a baby. How can I get them to raise up?
ОтветитьI love your presentation ❤❤❤,,,I’m learning a lot
ОтветитьYou look like Leonardo DiCaprio . Love your videos. Semps are my favorite too . What zone are you in ? I’m in zone 7 . I’ve made a VERY gravely bed . I’m concerned it may be too gravely . It’s 70% or so 1/4 inch minus gravel and the rest Coco Loco potting mix with some Sandy loam . What mix do you use in your beds ? Thank you 😊
ОтветитьNice ❤
ОтветитьMy hens and chicks started out from my grandmother years and years back i got some from my mom that were my grandmothers but im wondering who to plant the seedling from the roosters i have
ОтветитьI love the way you have planted your hens and chicks in crevaces in your gardens. It looks great, and I love the red colors of the plants. I have them growing all around my gardens, both in ground, and in pots. They are very easy to grow. Thanks for another great video.
ОтветитьI enjoyed your informative explanation of these wonderful beauty succulents ..new subb 🎉
ОтветитьSo i can keep this plant outside in the winter
ОтветитьGood video. What was the name of the changing color hen ,& chicks? So you saying after the mama plant flowers she dies? Ty
ОтветитьCan hen chick's be grown in deep south or indoors
ОтветитьI add sand to my potting mix in a terra cotta pot for my Hens and chicks . I hope that is a good thing to do! It’s for drainage . I also add slow release fertilizer
ОтветитьNice I like the ones growing out of the rock wall
ОтветитьHi from Canada just found your channel and ill be liking and subscribing so much info and very detail oriented thankyou. I do have a question though. I have a few hens that have grown to bloom this year, we just bought this house so its my first year with them. What should i do with the hen once its done blooming and died? Do i need to prune it? Or does it just fall off? I dont want to ruin it. Thank you again!!
ОтветитьCan these be planted in containers ??
ОтветитьHi Devin;
FYI: Green Pins from the nursery also will help the succulents stay in place. They look like staples.
My local nursery has had Mr. Dirt sitting out in front of their nursery for at least 20 years. He is a wire form made of Hens and chicks and crassula. The nursery changes his baseball cap and t-shirt every year and he wears a pair of dark sun glasses sitting in a chair with his leg crossed up and work boots that have holes in them with more succulents coming out of the boots. Mr. Dirt is so cool I decided to make a Miss Dirt which I have completed the whole body but the head has been a challenge. I have the hair made of thick copper wire that will go on last. I used burlap, coco choir(sold by the foot) and moss. Definitely takes time and patience bending all the wire. The further I get the more pleased I am and she is almost done!
great video and tips...i love these succulents so much...hugs from greece
ОтветитьCan they be planted and do okay in a shady or semi-shady spot?
ОтветитьWho would win the war on my rock wall, the Sempervivum or the Lilly of the Valley. AND, when I have a nice pile of hens & chick and the 3 on top are huge, can I transplant them or will they just die?
ОтветитьThis was a wonderful video! I had to watch six other videos on hen and chicks to get the info I got out of yours. I subbed now and will check out your channel.
ОтветитьI purchased these last year, a must have..colors are vibrant and lots of babies!!
ОтветитьIncredible channel!
ОтветитьI never knew what sedum was but found two types on my road, sort of in the woods. I took a small amount and planted it in my yard. The next winter the snow plows cut through the patch that was there and it was gone. Glad I saved some because now they are ground cover all over my yard, especially in the rocky areas. One type flowers yellow and the others reddish-pink.
ОтветитьI too stumbled on ur channel about hens & chicks. BEST plant channel EVER.. Quick to the INFO and PLENTY of info. I have had horrid results with these succulents. Thanks for All the info.! I’ll be back! 🪴🌱
ОтветитьI am in Canada (zone 3) and they do quite well as an outdoor plant. I have had sedum with hens and chicks as a green roof for my potting shed for 5 years. Every Spring I take it down to inspect them, thin them out a little and remove any casualties, give to my friends and neighbors then back they go.
Sadly there are some sempervivum that die after blooming...2 years later.
love Sempervivum
ОтветитьI have 2 quick questions for you. 1/. Are these hardy enough too survive a MN winter (zone 4), we have 2 feet of snow outside right now. So wondering if they would survive in ground or a container. Or should I grow then in a container only and bring them inside over winter? 2/. Would the same care/needs apply for the 'Cobweb Houseleek', (Sempervivum Arachnoideum)?
ОтветитьHen and chick heaven made me lol.
ОтветитьI just found your Channel today and I live in Bucks County Pennsylvania. I heard you say you lived in Northern East Coast. It's funny I'm actually going to buy some of these today from a place called Bountiful Gardens in Ewing New Jersey. They sell them $25 for $5. And they're pretty large. I intend to do something very creative outside with them. Anyhow I haven't even listened to this video yet and I just wanted to comment that I'm grateful to have found it and I look forward to what you have to say
ОтветитьIf I have a container of hens & chicks and sedum, can I leave it outside all winter? Zone 6b like you. Thanks!
ОтветитьMy dad always wonders why I call my lil plant prop “Jimmy.” It’s none of his business where I got that from 😂
ОтветитьThank you! I just learned so much and your engaging delivery was such a pleasure to watch!!!
