Uhhh.... character development does happen and its geared towards kids, so its gonna have some stupid jokes. We won't laugh at them but kids will. The pacing, I think, was really good. Just leave out the 'bridezilla' wedding sequence and there you go, the rest of the movie's solid. Sonic's character is characterized for a younger audience, so probably they're not gonna full-on Adventure or Frontiers level seriousness for him just with the second movie. And I'm pretty sure, Shadow will be characterized properly since the writers have clearly said that the third film take elements from Adventure 2. Concept art has also been revealed a long while ago in which you literally see a skeleton in the lab where Shadow's being held. Of course, I don't think they're gonna shoot Maria on-screen, but the third Sonic film will take on a darker tone.

I think they did the human scenes to fill up the time slot,in fear of boring the parents who watched this with their kids.

My only problem with sonic movie to is just the unnecessary forced wedding scene and the dance scene I found that so pointless in the film and just painful filler to me

I think the movie was great. I think you can make a movie full of fan-service for the game fans, and make a good movie in it's own right at the same time. I'd describe this movie like that.

I used to like sonic 2 Extremely but now. Sonic 2 seems like it was rushed and the directors were problably bored when doing this film, Because The Filler SUCKS. Especially the Hawaii Scene, Its completely useless to make it to 2 hours 2 minutes 20 seconds instead of just 100 minutes. Also Sonics, a jerk, I dislike the federal agents, they're a dumb addition to the film. But Jim Carrey as Robotnik is Great! He actually is better then the first where hes just a smarty pants.

This movie literally reduced Sonic to a punching bag and gave Knuckles no comeuppance for anything he did. If they'd have properly punished Knuckles he would have been much, much easier to forgive
