I know that you kind of say what you recommend. But like: If you want to game in 1080p go for XX with XX instead of this piece of XSSS, as many people just don't know. So this has hyper threading but it looks like it is a soft disable. If it has SSE 4.2 it has SMT, and I bet a bios hack would enable it. Thing is, it is so cheap and most people won't be buying this chip that I doubt very much it would matter. Anyone buying this CPU is doing it as a placeholder for a higher end cpu. I would spend $70 when building the rest of the system to get it up and running, and upgrade to a 13900k later.

They should have enables HT on these celerons and moved the pentium to 4 physical cores. The i3 is now at a really good spot of 4c 8t

Found a use case for this chip: your motherboard doesn't have a bios flash button and you need a cheap 12th gen to post so you can install the driver for your new 13th gen computer.

If all you want is just a normal office computer. or maybe to play some low end or older games. don’t waste your money on a celeron system. Just get a core2quad or a 1st or 2nd gen i5 or i7

They've done an Epic job with San Andreas if it barely functions on a 2022 processor now. With new games, you could say, oh realistic physics, etc... but GTA is same old with a coat of oil. Crazy bloated software all around if the games are limited by the CPU at all. Jesus. This processor would fly with winXP if Intel didn't force new bloated Windows on its plaforms. Intel should call the Penitium "Unilennium" or something by now.

u should include minecraft / modded minecraft performance. its probably a very reasonable game to run on 2 strong cores rather than old weak quad cores.

Dude holy crap... Some stuff on user benchmark later and I figured out that this thing isn't exactly trading blows with a York field core2 quad q8400........ But it's damn close and even has The same amount of cache! People said that the four Meg cache was the only thing that held back the q8400 when it was new.... A PROCESSOR FROM 2009 HAD A HARD TIME MAKING THE SAME DESIGN CHOICES AND IT'S EVEN COMPARABLE! 🤯😂😂😂😂

Btw, look it up. Most celeron chips are recycled from the crappiest die of them all hence the low price

Fun fact: this is not even the cheapest latest generation desktop CPU. There is a low-end variant of the same processor in the video "G6900T" which is pretty much same thing but with little less power and performance too.
