Nice video! Thanks for sharing.

I actually purposely sought out a 1675 with service dial and hands. To me, the beauty of a 50 year old watch is that with good care and service it can work as it was originally intended to and still retain the key visual elements which I love about 1675’s - a matte dial, domed crystal, silver open 6/9 date wheel and large lume plots. Also, if serviced by RSC then there are no worries about authenticity of parts and I can wear it without much worry. There are horror stories out there about re-lumed and even replica parts on an otherwise genuine vintage watch. Cheers!

I have a 1675 with serviced dial and case. It’s almost like NOS. Like the watch had time travelled from 1970s the present itself in almost brand new form. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I suspect this will eventually become an issue with most vintage Rolex collectors sooner or latter as these watches continue to age and the natural process of tritium lume decay. It may be in tact now, but give it another 10-20 years. There's going to be a point where you have no choice but to go full service dial and hands or do a faux re-lume which I would not favor. Are you to just leave it even if all the applied lume crumbles and falls off the dial and hands? Unfortunately, not all vintage Rolex ages and patinas the same. Some even have the tritium flaking off and going into the movement.
