Background info: This commercial was created 1999, originally aired in Sweden - it later appeared in countries like Ireland and Belgium. The spot was filmed in Majorca with the help of Palma Pictures. Special credit should go to the client for being bold enough to buy the commercial, take a bow, Mr. Fredrik Tottie (marketing director at the time). For the record books: A 'Toygirl' version was produced as a safety measure in case there was a public outcry and it was actually aired for a number of days as 'Toyboy' was disliked by the Hyundai sales force. Thankfully 'Toyboy' was reinstated after research showed that being gay was not an issue with the public. The fact the man also had a young woman appear in his car made him bisexual and so no less controversial but definitely more boring.
