ОтветитьHe was a beast. One of the best ever did it.👍
ОтветитьHaving the bless to know Allambra 🥰❤️ song, place and chords... although till today its not ever possible to play as he does at all 😂
ОтветитьRESPECT your elders!!!!
ОтветитьNote for me the next time I come back: Bach piece is Gavotte 1 & 2 from cello suite in D major BwV 1012
Ответитьhe might be the greatest classical guitarist of all time.
ОтветитьMaestro Segovia was right: the greatest the artist, the humblest.
ОтветитьMAESTRO
ОтветитьBeautiful music by the maestro against the backdrop of the Alhambra -- there is no equal! I'm spellbound by that distant footage of Andres performing in front of the wading pool / koi pond and that row of neatly-trimmed hedges and the architecture behind it. An oasis of sight and sound!
ОтветитьСмотрится на одном дыхании
ОтветитьThank you so much for posting this. I am blessed for it
ОтветитьDoes concert at the Alhambra Palace.
Doesn't play Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Tarréga, one of the most famous Spanish guitar composers of all time, who wrote the piece inspired BY the Alhambra Palace... 🤔
Saw Segovia in concert in Hartford, CT back in the late 70s. Just an elderly man on a bare stage, sitting in a chair and holding a guitar. Then he held us all spellbound for several hours with his rapturous music. An evening I'll never forget.
ОтветитьSo many things to say about amazing this man was. For one thing, assuming that this was indeed recorded in 1976, then Segovia was 83 years old here. I hope I can even hold a guitar when I get to that age (65 now and already feeling the stiffness creeping in)! Second, I didn't realize that he was such a fluent English speaker. I'm reasonably fluent in Spanish, but hearing the Maestro speaking my language so eloquently is truly humbling.
ОтветитьI can play that... Then.. i woke up...
Ответитьi have listened to hundreds of players..some of whom disparage the mestro....but he has something special that gives life to the guitar
Before Segovia the guitar was not as prominent as it is today. It was a lesser instrument. Now we have Al Di Meola, etc. Real stars.
ОтветитьA shout out to the bird in the background throughout the entire performance. Thanks Birdie!!
ОтветитьThis was the reason why they made a guitar…
ОтветитьAs a fan of Spain and its music-this is very great to look and listend to for my god memories of ESPANA!!
Brynjar Hoff
Recuerdos de un tiempo when arts and harmonies blossomed. O, Aqui de mi Alhambra
ОтветитьDanke Regards from Uwe
ОтветитьI don't know if he misplayed even one single note through this whole thing. Pleasant songs as well.
ОтветитьLove it!
ОтветитьI have a documentary about The Prado with A. Segovia. In it, he points out that, unlike some other museums, every item that is in The Prado was fully paid for. (I am not sure if he had a gun to his head to make this point.) Of course, he and the rest of humankind have the right to speak of the unprecedented theft of Napoleon's armies that enriched The Louvre, the countless stolen items in The British Museum and The Met. That said, we can also point out that Spain STOLE ENTIRE COUNTRIES. So, the patrons of The Prado may have been 'paying fully' for works of art with STOLEN GOLD AND SILVER. One way or another, many of us respect Mr. Segovia as a musician. And we are glad that, despite their generally destructive past, successive Spanish governments refrained from destroying The Alhambra, and continue to keep it presentable to all visitors.
ОтветитьSaw him live as a kid!
ОтветитьBefore it's even started I'm thinking "this is what the internet was made for" it's a shame most kids are instead watching 5 second shorts of absolute nonsense for hours at a time
ОтветитьThis was Charo"s Music Teacher; and as of Late Mine also, Time Well Spent....John
ОтветитьThis man was reason I quit learning how to play the guitar!
ОтветитьI am here because Guitar. The End. Concert of One? Yes please.
ОтветитьI started playing the guitar once watching and immediately recording this movie. Sincerely with big love to Spain from Russia. 2022👋everything will be ok
ОтветитьAdoraba ,mis primeros años ver y oír, la rapidez de los dedos , y el sonido que producía
ОтветитьThank You , So much for this upload!
ОтветитьAm I seeing this right, or is his thumb deformed from playing? Does this happen often to guitarists?
ОтветитьBello concierto ❤️ y digno representante de la guitarra española!
ОтветитьI know just before he passed away, Andre was giving "Master Classes". He would say - Gently of course to his students - "Why do you phrase this in this way?" - "Why do you put your fingers in this way ?". The master was very nice with his students.
ОтветитьMy teacher, Ms. Pat Corelli, was a student of Segovia. I always felt a special connection to that lineage. A true master. Ms. Correll was an exceptional guitarist and teacher and am forever grateful for her and Segovia. She was in her mid 80s in the early 90s here in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
ОтветитьSaw this performance perhaps 30 years ago and have the DVD somewhere too. But it's absolutely magical. Off to visit the Alhambra next week. I think this music will inspire my enjoyment of the palace in Granada !!
ОтветитьHow awful is it that talented souls like this grow old and die
ОтветитьSaw this video on tv when it first came out decades ago. So uplifting to see it again.
Thank you.
There's something mysterious and haunting about the Alhambra that fits so well with this music. Desolate, wistful, and echoing forgotten memories from the far past.
ОтветитьLaid he was.......
ОтветитьI was privileged to see him in Catford town hall .
ОтветитьFucking ad that ruin à beautiful moment
