The very first claim in this video is a blatant, ridiculous lie. Not even a minute in and I can downvote and dismiss.

Pittie the OG American "Nanny" dog for sure....And statfordshire teriers are not pit bulls...that is a separate breed.

Only the english "stafordshire bull terrier" is "nanny dog". The "Americam staforshire Terrier" no nanny dog, the "Americam Pitbull terrier" no nanny dog, americans pit dogs type are not nanny dog.

Pitbulls are intolerably risky. Even when raised properly, they are known to snap out of nowhere. This is what happened to Daxton Borchardt.

I'll be brutally honest: I want an Pitbull as an attack dog to kill people and animals I don't like. Keep it leashed and muzzled in the backyard or frontyard and feed it, give it water, and give it a spare shed to lay and rest in during bad weather conditions.

This might prove to be good if you live in Detroit or other areas with high crime violence because they're good attack dogs. They're often used in dogfighting.

Pitbull breeds kill an incredible amount of pets and livestock every year. Not to mention the occasional toddler and geriatric.

Most times people are attacked by any breed is being on property that isn’t theirs. Pitbulls are much more likely to attack another dog than a human and humans are typically bit due to territory or breaking up a dog fight.

No dog just snaps without showing signs before. Things escalate and selfish owners ignore signs. I know many pitbulls owners who say their dogs are great around people but dog aggressive. This is responsible dog ownership! Knowing your dogs triggers and not putting them in stressful situations is key to good ownership.
There is a homeless man with an aggressive pitbull that has attacked many dogs as he leaves it off leash. This is an issue of the owner more than the dog and if the dog bites someone the dog will get the reputation, not the homeless man

Neither. There is no such thing as a "nanny" dog and only a moron would think that a dog that is also known for dog fighting would also magically be a great dog for small children. It also isn't a monster. It is a dog. That's it. As soon as people stop treating them like magical beings and start being honest we can have a real conversation. Until then you will have parents getting their kids mauled by dogs that have absolutely no business being in their home. Personally, I'll never own one or go to the home of someone who owns one. You want to do it? Go right ahead. It's your face.

I've never heard of a woman having her arm amputated by a Chihuahua or a Golden Retriever and neither have you, but there is a woman in the UK who is missing an arm because of a pitbull mix. Maybe you think that doesn't matter? Great. Go get all the pitbulls and put them in your house. Not me. Not mine.

The answer lies in the middle. Alll dogs are capable being dangerous although some more than others. People should not treat animals like these as safe around unsupervised children. These are animals and they have thoughts on their omen. In some ways. Dogs can be more dangerous than guns. People tend to treat guns with respect and healthy amount of fear, however they threat dogs like toy incapable doing harm.

If a dog runs after a police officer... That officer has every right to shoot it.

Actually, everyone has the right to shoot a dog running at them. A threat is a threat.

Um….have you really not seen the microfiches from 1900s newspapers talking about pitbull attacks? Literally nothing has changed.

Pits ARE sweet, cuddly love bugs — partly because they’re super clingy and neurotic, but whatever. The problems are:

1. They almost never give the universally recognized aggression “warning signs,” leading people and animals to be blindsided by their aggression;

2. Similarly, they not only don’t heed submissiveness/“I don’t want to fight, I’m harmless” cues from people/animals; in fact, they seem to prefer weak creatures — have you ever seen the list floating around that compiles every time a “never aggressive” pit mauls a person having a freaking seizure? They sense weakness, they pounce

3. When they DO decide to aggress, they are far, far too powerful for the average grown man to handle, much less women and children; and because their instinct for gameness is so deeply ingrained, once they start attacking, it’s “kill or be killed.”

Also, they are multiple cases of APBTs passing the temperament test, getting adopted out, and then immediately mauling someone much to the shock of the shelter staff.

Please stop spreading dangerous misinformation..

I find that the news only publicise attacks of dog breeds they want outlawed like here in the UK they're trying to now pick on American bully's because there's been a couple of deaths by them but yet they don't highlight the amount of attacks by other breeds.. it's all propaganda to make you believe what the news want you to..
I live in England and my dog would be put down if found out because he's half pit half xl bully but he's the softest dog ever and if anything he's very submissive and hates any confrontation, raised voices etc.. never once shown any cause for concern and is very dog friendly and people alike..
He has very dominant pitbull genetics too and looks like a pit and behaves like one when out the house.. very energetic and driven just at home he's lazy and shows more he's bully side..
I agree you'll get one naturally bad one every now and again but what dogs don't or any living creature for that matter it's up to the owner to recognise their dogs traits early on and deal with them...

Pit bulls have the most attacks yes, but the EXACT same evidence shows, that evidence from the CDC and AVMA show that per 100,000 dogs they are one of the least likely to bite and kill... the alaskan malamute is the worst breed actually, the rottweiler is the second worst according to this data. This is data over 20 years.... cdc data. Stop the bs.

The culture of the early 20th century America was not like it is today. While there were wars and crimes, the overall spirit of the country was much more innocent than we have today. It is like a darkness has covered every aspect of society.

The increased training of protection dogs (which covers many breeds) may have added to the numbers of dog attacks, if the owners are irresponsible. Laws to protect the public from dog attacks are in place, but ignored….muzzle laws, leash laws, fenced yards, etc. Add to that the growing numbers of gangs in urban areas, where having a “mean” dog is almost a mandatory requirement, and the Pit is no doubt the most popular.

I have owned a pit. She was a UKC show dog, and the sweetest dog I have ever owned.
The only dog that ever bit me was my great aunt’s cocker spaniel…when I was five.

The statistics show that they're overwhelmingly involved in vicious and fatal attacks, yet the "Temperament Test" results show that they're wonderful. The American Temperament Society should tell the kids missing faces that they're stereotyping.
