the little dog on the cube is an ash tray. The underside metal curve is where you rest the cigarette.
ОтветитьI luv your dog! We have a 1 yo female German Shepherd! Luv ur channel too
ОтветитьI like the deer tile!
ОтветитьThe red blanket is south American and I think Peruvian. The designs are native to Peru. It is actually a shawl. Do not wash. Research how to clean. It's a pretty good bet that the colors are not fast.
ОтветитьThe dice dog is an ashtray resembling the tucker box dog ststue in Australia
ОтветитьWould have liked to know how much you paid for each item…
ОтветитьHi Danie, The first textile you showed may be Peruvian, Bolivian or Colombian. Although because I see guitar shapes, my guess is that it was woven to appeal to the turist market. Having lived in that region of the world and actually-I'm a professor and researches Amerindian cultures and weaving, that would be my guess. There are many open-air (mercados al aire libre) that used to serve only those villages where they appeared, came to serve the turistas, with private markets/market times for locals. Hopefully, you can find out more. A textile for personal Amerindian wearing would have symbols that showed which town the wearer was from, and sometimes something about his/her lineage. It was how people recognized a 'stranger' without even knowing their name.
ОтветитьPhilanthropists??
ОтветитьI think the pice of fabrick, the red one could be from Peru or Bolivia 😊
ОтветитьI feel like that corner wood piece thing would be a pretty plant hanger even in a doorway going into your kitchen.
ОтветитьDanie, the red-pink blanket is very likely from the Andes, Peru or Bolivia, from the Quechua. So if you wanna find out what's written there, Google translate might help. ;) A couple of years back I traveled to that region and went to an awesome textile museum. This is what I learned: All the animals and symbols woven inside a piece tell a unique story, likely a dream or a myth/fairy tale from the region, sometimes specifically from one village. The weavers often spent days creating these blankets (or carpets, belts, ponchos...), each piece is unique and handmade by only one person!
About washing: it is very likely made of wool. So actually you don't need to wash it but just air it out. If you really wanna wash it, please please do it by hand with the proper wool-detergent, or you'll likely ruin it. (see also the comment by mtzjotz) Lastly, my two carpets from La Paz now are bleached in some spots because I wasn't cautious enough where I put them in my apartment. Avoid laying yours anywhere it can be reached by sunlight (direct or reflected)!
The beige-mustard blanket migth be from northern Africa, I'm not so sure about it - but the treatment should be the same.
I would cut that wood price at the curved part and either make it a plant hanger on the wall or into a pendant light hanger for the wall .
ОтветитьThat house for the estate sale was just magnificient and unique! You got some awesome finds and I love that architecture piece is beautiful, love the bookend horses, the little half chair/stool (so adorable) and that cow milking stool was a true find.
ОтветитьYou always have the most fun! Great finds!! I would use the wooden corner bracket as a template and create more. Maybe then use for various door openings or as shelf brackets.
ОтветитьThe shape and pattern of that Japanese handkerchief is called Yakko, which is from Kabuki, I believe. It’s well known as origami and kite!🪁
ОтветитьThe red fabric is a Peruvian "telar" inspired in Inca culture textiles with and llamas🦙
ОтветитьHello Danie, my first instinct for the bright colored textile was Guatemalan but now not sure. The light colored one I'm thinking not a good idea for a carpet. It wasn't made for that and it will get ruined quickly. I was going to tell you the doggie box looks like a cigar ashtray. You found some good stuff!
ОтветитьThe square part of the doorway piece would make a fun photo frame for multiple pictures. Love the dog die.
ОтветитьThat wall cornice thing! You could make the square part a table top and the curved part the wall support! Like a wall mounted side table!
ОтветитьI've watched a few of your videos tonight. Your energy is infectious and I had to sub! I'm really enjoying what I've seen so far!!🎉❤
ОтветитьThe littledog die is an old ash tray.
ОтветитьOmg that button!!
ОтветитьHi Danie ! I'm pretty sure that the dog box is an ashtray, so you can drop your lit cigar or cigarette on the lid "pedestal"
ОтветитьDianne, the did is am ash tray :)
ОтветитьDecorative wood - split it, put a mirror behind the square to hang on the wall and use the triangle section in any opening a window or doorway.
ОтветитьThe die with the doggy is an ashtray
ОтветитьDog dice is an ash tray.
ОтветитьHi Danie! I think you have found beautiful treasures !
ОтветитьI think milking stools only have 3 legs to counteract the Inverness of barn floors, etc.
I think my favourite things were the trio of little stools.
That cool wall thing should go into your new workshop upstairs!
ОтветитьOh! The most precious flower hot plate/tile trivet thingy! ❤ I love that. I feel like you and I could shop each other's homes 😂
ОтветитьI was just about to to say cigar holder, lol. But yeah, it's cute and cool though!
ОтветитьThe tile from the tile works in Ironbridge, UK is down the road from where I grew up and we went there quite a lot growing up. The tile works I know they did hand painted tiles that you could buy there which they did for decades but mainly a lot of people go there and paint their own tile and they fire them there. So there's a good chance home owner painted that tile themselves! (I've painted tiles there a lot as a younger kid that my mum still has!)
ОтветитьI loved this video. I would have chosen the same things you did. Can’t wait to see what you do with everything. ❤
Ответитьdice is an ash tray and cigarette holder!
Ответить❤❤
ОтветитьWere you pretending to drink from a fingerbowl or cream soup? Gasp!
ОтветитьDanie, I have a similar textile to your red tapestry and I bought it from Guatemala. Mine is a different shape but design is similar
Ответить👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьI love- love that second low back chair! That would fit anywhere in my house too! I think he metal one is super cool! You can use magnets on it! Or magnetic hooks!…So many ideas ☺️😉
ОтветитьOk I could be totally misreading this but I just feel like I sorta got nursery vibes from the stuff you were showing? A little bit cryptic about why you’re changing the room, then showed Children’s book, lots of beautiful vintage looking toys, storage stuff, seating stuff… and it seems like maybe a growing family would be a reason to change the guest room again so soon! But also I might be way off so ignore me if this is a silly guess 😅 whatever is coming I’m excited for a new beautiful space!
ОтветитьThat wheeled metal stool/table would be a perfect side table for a couch and you put the remote controls in the little shelves!
ОтветитьThe doorway piece… the square part would be nice on top of a same sized mirror hung in an entryway or to reflect light in a hallway.
ОтветитьThat architectural piece could be a stand alone wall piece. An homage to creators like you from the past.
ОтветитьDog dice is an ashtray
