The most heartbreaking thing about Ted Lasso and the change of Roy Kent from Player to Coach. Was the fact that it mirrored the real Prem history. The 'ard b@stards that used to properly fight on the pitch that left the sport and the new pretty boys and low contact rules came in. I haven't watched the football in a more than a decade, and this show and Roy Kent really did push to me what i'm missing. But its simple. The men that Roy Kent's character was made from, they don't play anymore.

I never understood why nate became a dick, seemed like it was unwarranted... rewatching this scene I realize this is why! Roy came back and was immediately praised by everyone in the crowd...while nate felt like he was drawing up the plays and making the team better with scheme and never got any recognition.
thats why nate kept saying I earned this all the time... I feel like an idiot for not catching it on the first go round

The filming in this scene is top notch. The whole visual coordination is incredible but that moment where Roy clicks his knee back into place and straightens up with the pitch sprawled out before him tells a whole story in itself without a single word. This show is such a rare example of a whole production working in perfect harmony,from script to camera work.

Still really hoping for a spinnoff with Roy Kent Beard and Nate coaching the team in the Champions Leauge (they quallified since they got 2d) with a cameo appearance or 2 from Ted to cheer them on and we find out Ted is the head coach of an MLS team in the USA.

I'd like to think the reception Roy received is the kind I'd receive when entering Heaven.

Roy limping from his knee injury the entire journey until he is stood in the tunnel ready to walk out in front of the fans - to then compose himself and confidently walk, limp free to the dugout.

Subtle but beautiful nod to Roys need to be seen as a hard man despite his sensitive core.

I like the fact how the music became garbled when the camera panned to nate and later in the show we see nate composing a beautiful song on the violin

The rough violin when it turns to Nate foreshadows his downfall

The security guy's face when Roy cracks his knee...Ewwww. WHAT was that? 🤣

His entry into the stadium was bad ass the camera pan from bact to side to front revealed everything, should have done the same thing at the end of the series to reveal the new manager

This still will remain the perfect scene of this entire series for me. From the sequence of Rainbow starting to play when Roy is with the pundits, to grunting at the kids, and the crescendo when Higgins sees his wife in blue. Absolutely cannot be topped!
