I disagree with making your own buttermilk. In my opinion, it's just not the same. If you have leftover buttermilk, you can frreeze it for later. I usually put it in one-cup containers. When it's thawed, it will be separated, but just put it in the blender or use a hand held blender, and it will be just like fresh buttermilk. I love your recipes! And your videos are outstanding!

Forget the fried chicken, I learned how to make buttermilk. When a recipe calls for buttermilk and you never have any on hand!

I basically make mine the same way except i use whole milk or 1or2 percent milk. And i use my dutch oven

Tried this tonight and my wife and I loved it. The making buttermilk tip worked great and the spice combination on the chicken was perfect. Definitely my go to fried chicken recipe from now on. I made one small modification, smoked paprika instead of plain. Thank you Rachel!
