Ethiopian Airlines: My WORST Economy Class flight (2024)

In January 2024 I flew with Ethiopian in economy from London to Victoria Falls and then back to London from Bulawayo, and I found the opposite to you. The internal African flights were fine - both being on 737-Max aircraft. The food was great and no problem with the interiors. The long haul out and back to London were horrendous. Food was terrible on both legs - the breakfast into London was a so called omelette, which was so hard it would bounce – the only time I have not eaten airline food.


As a family (with 2 kids - 15 & 12) we flew with them in December 2019 from London to Entebbe, and the food was good, but their reallocation of booked and confirmed seating on the ADD-LHR leg was not so good – we were spread randomly throughout the cabin – which after a fair bit of complaining we managed to get my wife and children in one row together – but only once on board the aircraft. Another issue was that the bags arrived a day late in Entebbe – we were told that this was a common occurrence.

I will never fly with them again unless they are the ONLY airline flying to where I want to go.

No one believes your false video with a handful of followers & you’re probably paid by the competitors. My advice to you is don’t fly again on Ethiopian. It’s the biggest airline in Africa & one of the fastest growing airline in the world & there’s a reason for that.

They ladies are hot, so I don't mind.

I Booked a flight round trip Japan-Brazil in August. But I am really concerned If I will survive . The only thing that I remember about this company is the tragedy in 2019

Over the years, the multi-award-winning airline has received countless coveted accolades and recognitions for its excellence including Skytrax's Four-Star Airline Certification, Best Airline in Africa title for several years in a row, and Overall Excellence for Outstanding Crisis Leadership Award to mention.
So it is good service provider in the world with cheapest fare.

It is totally a wrongly statement , I have experience excellent flight for multiple times. Please, don't misguide for the things you don't know.

I feel Ethiopian wants to retire their 777s soon although they haven't made mention of it. But it obvious especially with more orders of the a350s and 777x. Maybe the plans to retire these aircrafts gives them no reason to maintain it as it might be a waste of money. Just saying.

I would not complain about the G-forces when trying to avoid a collision with another plane, this is life and death and the pilot is not about to slowly get out of the way to make the movements more pleasant to you

What an awful experience, with the vaccine saga. I have used ET a few times but with little hitches. The water leakage experience was not good, I hope ET gets that resolved and fast. I hope the foul smell you experienced upon boarding the flight is also sorted out. I hope you had a lovely time in Kenya. Nice video 👏🎬. Feedback is always a good thing, its one of the best ways to improve.

Nothing is perfect with every Airlines, however, your dismissal of the whole experience with just one off incident is not only unfair but also biased in every aspect! Ethiopian is by far the best in Africa and keeps shining despite your recommendations!

Ethiopian Airlines is the best airline of Africa And she got tired for these achievements although I am Jordanian and it is the only airline that connected Jordan with Africa and its in top 20 in the world you are not lucky

I took 4 flights with Ethiopian last year, I liked them all, just the food wasn´t great and on one of the flights, the overhead storage was broken. I´d choose Ethiopian Airlines again though :)

Very sad but very true. Ethiopian Airlines is the worst. They want to be Emirates but mainly on their short routes they only use old, poorly maintained and dirty planes. Everybody who says otherwise either did not even watch ur video, never fly ET with Africa or they just are Ethiopian Internet army. An embarrassment for my country and not worth the money at all. 🇪🇹😢 Thank you for showing everyone the truth and don't bother the Internet trolls from my country. Sorry from Ethiopia to you!
