Indianapolis downtown is nice, compact little city center especially for sports events, is not much unique (lots of chain restaurants and not much diversity in population) but friendly people, cheap costs. Don’t expect hustle and bustle of other cities, is spread out and not very densely populated. Great place for family visits

There's almost always conventions going on. For St. Elmo's it's best to make a reservation.

I've been to Indy once in my life and I loved it there! That airport is so beautiful! Came for the Big 10 Championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium for Wisconsin vs Ohio State in 2017. Stayed at Marriott Downtown which was under renovation then but it was a great hotel. Right across from the convention center which had all kinds of neat stuff inside for the Big 10 Championship game. Then Lucas Oil Stadium was right down the street. My husband went last year as well for GenCon and he loved Indy too! We are talking about moving there, hopefully sometime in the next year. San Antonio is just too damn hot for too much of the year lol

As a California native, I’d love to visit Indiana :) I believe each state has its own pros and cons. And I just love how clean it looks. Not like ghetto DTLA 😅 Indiana has soo much potential. God bless the Hoosier state.

The primary problem indy has is not having enough money to have a larger and more active police force..the crime is out of control the homeless are everywhere the drug houses are everywhere and it's impossible to get Hoosier to work together to stop it...the governor refuses to be active outside of voting time..its great I love indy I've been here two years from Florida but it's hard to understand why people don't try and make more of a difference around them

In the mid-90s I worked at one of the state office buildings that sat right on the canal. Indy was just beginning its renaissance, thus I was able to experience the old and the new. The two or so years I lived there was the perfect time. Beautiful young girlfriend, season tickets to the Lyric Theater on the Circle, dear friends nearby from before my Indy sojourn, and my career advanced greatly. Thank you Indy - you were the best!

Weber grill is a restaurant not a superstore. You were in the Arts Garden when you entered the mall. We’re you staying at the Westin or Wyndam because you said both. I assume the Westin since there is no Wyndham downtown.

Eiteljorg museum...OMG please learn how to pronounce it. NOt eat / jorg...pronounced: idle/jorg.
And it is Loughmiller's...NOT LONG/millers...good grief. And St.Elmos is the most overrated restaurant in Indy.

I moved to Indiana from California , I think if you would have went inside some of those places you would have realized how not cool it is. The art museums are a joke . Or maybe you were trying to make the city look better than it really is. The circle center mall has nothing on the malls in California. The museums are not great, the zoo is not great the children's museum is nice but packed always cause its one of the few things for kids so its unenjoyable due to that and parking is horrible, they have no aquarium , no natural history or science museum The city in general looks run down , like really run down and almost industrial but not in a fun way in a really depressing way. Also you didn't address that Indiana does not know at all how to do public parking , and the freeway system is not well thought out at all . They have very little cultural restaurants and shops so its just bland Midwest stuff There is very little for kids to do , the few things they have are packed because there is so little to do . Honestly would not recommend anyone wasting time here if they have a choice. Go to Cincinnati or Chicago , or LA real cities that actual have real city stuff. Indianapolis is truly as sad place to actually vacation to.

You barely scratched the surface of the downtown area Mass Ave, Fountain Square, and the area just north of the circle has some beautiful architecture. Hopefully you will make it back soon.

Someone else already said it but the Weber Grill is a restaurant not a store front. Not a lot of people shopping for grills downtown. Above St. Elmo is the 1933 Lounge which is part of St. Elmo. You couldn't get a meal up there but you could have got a drink and the shrimp cocktail up there.

As a lifelong Hoosier, born and raised in the Circle City, I wanted to personally thank you for highlighting the city I love. Your video truly did my city proud. If you want the shrimp cocktail, Harry and Izzy's is a "sister" of St. Elmo's and has their signature shrimp cocktail on the menu. One tiny critique, though. I guess it's just a Hoosier thing. The Muesum of Native American Art spelled Eiteljorg, is actually pronounced like "Idol jorg". Named for Harrison Eiteljorg, a philanthropist who donated several of the artifacts on display there.

Make sure you stay within a mile or so of the circle and it's not bad, outside of that and all bets are off. Most places that are outside of 465 are fine and like most big city's the farther you go the better it gets. Indy's near East, Northeast and North sides are by far the worst so if you're from out of town try to stay within the downtown area.
