I like how the 3 elven rings (fire, water, and air) correspond to the final fates of the 3 silmarils. One was lost in a fiery chasm. One was thrown into the sea. And the last sails the skies.

Thanks for this video. Yesterday I finally finished the book trilogy and was wondering why they kept the rings and never got corrupted.

As wonderful as these rings are, their fates are sad. It seems that no matter how we move in the future, there will be less magic in it.

You know that there actually was a secret Fourth Elven 💍 forged, Legolas has it currently and it was originally gifted to his Grandfather, Thőrendil Shortlégs and passed to his father Burning Greenleaf. The 💍 had the Power of life and growth and made Legolas' Dick into a 3rd leg!

Although not apparent, (to me) Its clear that Gandalf's ring warded corruption when he helped remove the spell on King Theoden.
I wish there was a better explanation about how the Elven rings are tied to the main ring of power. Idk, just using a technique doesnt seem reason enough to tie the rings together. Great video as always :)

I wonder why the elves didn't make new rings that were not connected to the one, so they could still preserve their cities.. They had the power, and had those who knew how to blacksmith, since they restored narsil very well.

Why in the world didn't Celebrimbor send the other 16 rings away before being invaded?? I think things might have been better, at least for a while, if he had done so..

Very hypothetical but: If Gollum wouldn't have been involved in the destruction of the One ring and had survived, would he have been granted a place on the ship with the other ring-bearers?

why didnt Elrond or Galadriel give their rings of power to the fellowship to use/wear. I figured an extra ring of power for Frodo would have been helpful to counter the one rings burden

I think I'm missing something, and you might be able to answer:

After Frodo looks into Galadriel's' mirror, she says: "...Do you not see now wherefore your coming is to us as the footstep of Doom? For if you fail, then we are laid bare to the Enemy. Yet if you succeed, then our power is diminished, and Lothlo´rien will fade, and the tides of Time will sweep it away. We must depart into the West, or dwindle to a rustic folk of dell and cave, slowly to forget and to be forgotten."

I understand that Nenya preserves the kingdom of Lothlorien from the ravages of time, and that she brings the glory of the west to middle earth. But without her (and the other two), why should the kingdoms of the elves wither to noting? and force the elves to go back to the west?

Also, if I remember correctly, Galadriel is part of the Noldor that originally came from the west in the pursuit of Morgoth. and that she believes (in this point in the story) that she can NOT go back to the west because the Valar did not pardoned her ??

The more I learn about the elves, the less aloof they are to me. Galadriel and Elrond have an obvious love for Middle earth like it’s their home though their true home is in the Undying Lands. They gave so much to Middle Earth in their time there.

I like how the show does not even remotely follow the story written by Tolkien. No lesser rings were ever made. Sauron did not infiltrate, Galadriel just took him there (and drove there in 6 days from Mordor on horseback).

And then they casually craft the rings within 3 weeks.

Why if the 3 elf rings were made using mithril meant to preserve their existence, why did they lose their powers entirely. Wouldn't it posses some sort of power still? Specially without Sauron round?

If Sauron knew how to create rings, and had for a long time the one which would have enhanced so much, why not simply forge himself a hundred of them, and give it to more humans, raising an army of specters? just 9 wreak havoc on the world, why not make more?

I do wonder if the Three, having held some connection to the One, had any negative effects. Not as detrimental or corrupting as the other Rings, since Sauron never had the chance to corrupt them, but I do wonder if there was some subtle downside to wielding them

I’ve wondered, are all wizards Maia, or are there non-Maia wizards?
If there are none, what’s the point of the Maia calling themselves wizards? Where did the concept of wizardry come from? Wouldn’t it just be maiardry?
