Amazingly... This race includes many classes the AE86 is in a higher class than the EG6... Which means that a lower class EG was able to keep up and even overtake the better 86... Incredible.

5 years ago and I still come back about once or twice a year to watch this just to take the stressful edge off because life is tough lately.

I didn't know they still raced at Adelaide. Although Melbourne is very close, I miss F1 at Adelaide. Glad they got rid of that one gigantic kerb before the long straight lol

Browns 86 and Cox's civic is just phenomenal. Both are amazing racers and one thing is shouldnt be the Civic be the one to beat the 86 on straight ways or does the 86 just have better tuning?

I dont care if a car can run the same circuit 12s faster or go 3s faster to 60mph.. when it boils down to the sport of racing, old school daily drivers modified under the factory power plants are 10x more exciting when you get them dialed in. Very few if any assists, no computers controlling slip or braking/stability, etc.... This is why I love having an underdog when i join clubs with more powerful cars and newer, far more expensive rides. When we get to the destination and are taking pictures, refueling, etc, and youve got an $80k car owner asking about your car and wanting to know how he just got beat by a far less expensive car... its funny. I mean, yes...an expensive car with 500+ whp and every doodad in the market to keep it planted all while having 4way climate control, heated seats, and a heads up nav system are 'cool' amenities, they basically defeat the entire purpose of getting behind the wheel to DRIVE...i mean if it has an automatic...unless you're drag racing, i simply dont get it. To each their own..but i miss seeing this type of racing and unfortunately, we're far past the days of cool, good old cheap beaters tearing up the track...
