I have a pro meat grinder at home, but I find my food processor (Breville) is the best method.

I grind meats once a month so Kitchenaide is best for me...cut meat into long strips and feed it in. Easy and safe. Make sure some fat is involved for the grinding; add drops of oil down the neck if the meat seems to stick. Speed setting is 3 max...faster isn't necessary. I wouldn't grind bones for my dog but I will make stock and broth.

I can only imagine if someone’s finger got caught going through the bottom portion that is spinning around while the meat grinder is going if they grab a hold of the machine to study it or whatever. It would literally snap their finger off!

why did you compare the plastic kitchen aid grinder to metal grinders when kitchen aid has a metal grinder, also all this depends on how much meat you grind on a consistent basis in order to justify a standalone unit. great video thou 👍

The grinder on the kitchen aid is not from kitchen aid. Theirs at kitchen aid is all metal and runs about ninety-nine dollars which is a lot better than the cheap plastic one used here in the video.

I believe Kitchen Aid recommends using the grinder on mixer setting 4. For versatility and space savings though, using a stand mixer as a meat grinder just makes more sense. The Kitchen Aid does a serviceable job grinding meats and is probably one of the best mixers out there. I'll stick with it.

Thank you for your very informative video... It is a big help for me to decide which grinder to get... I have already watched about 5 other videos on grinders... As I am on a budget and one person just wanting to grind small amounts now and then, this is a very helpful demonstration for me to watch...

Alright, I'm coming off of seeing 'The Menu' last weekend and having used to make my own burgers with my father to sneak them into the show. He sadly is no longer with us and when I saw that movie, I snuck a Whopper into the show instead of a homemade Andy burger and It sucked. Would it be worth it to buy one of these things or ask the family for one since Christmas is coming up? The other thing I'm thinking is the chuck/brisket mix since no grocery store will mix a grind for you.

I could imagine the host's long hair dangling into the grinder chute. Aside from that, I would have liked to see what chicken bones/part where they feeding into the grinder. Looks like the parts were pre-cut, not whole legs, thighs, etc. Which adds to the workload. Other considerations besides end product, size and storage, what other tasks can it perform. Wasted a lot of time on the Kitchen Aid.

If these two are going to test equipment, they need to take some basic engineering courses…..Further, the little lady with the hat would look far more credible if she didn’t dress like a teenager.

Why don't you guys (pun intended) get an engineer from one of the companies that know what meat grinding all is about. It is obvious that you two are winging it as to how these devices operate. Sure, you know what you are looking for as to the end product, but you have no idea as to how to get there

I agree...the sound is grating. I am very sensitive to sounds. When looking at reviews, if I can't hear it, then I won't buy it. Even the most expensive is too weak for my needs. Can you do a review of higher ends. Loved watching you two. Two lovely women always holds my attention. ;)

You could have also tested the metal meat grinder attachment for KitchenAid. That's the one I use and would love to see it compared to the standalone grinders.
