We're gonna need to be thinking about a proper base design soon - very torn between safe resource processing in the void, versus the fun of proper base design in the overworld. What do you think?

the fish bait works in the fish trap, which requires it to be surrounded by water. you are using the wrong trap. your problem with the spikes is simple. they need to be on the wall, facing down the line, not on the hopper. if you fix that, the items will get pushed into the hopper.

tinkers pick with sponge should give a form of silk touch for marble

When you attempt to gather marble by mining up the blocks that make up Astral structures, the astral marble gets turned into Gregtech Marble Cobblestone unless A.) you have silk touch on your tool, or B.) the blocks are one of the chiselled variants. Until you have the ability to make real Tinker's tools, silk touch may be out of your reach, however Iron Chisel IS easy since you can buy them via the EMC Table or just craft them with a stick and an iron ingot. If you go to an existing Astral structure and chisel any visible marble into a chiselled variant such as bricks, THEN vein-mine those blocks, they won't get turned into the gregtech garbage blocks.

Once you do make a real Tinker's tool (you will need the pure daisy to convert a Crafting table and Artisan Worktable into the Tinker's crafting station and tool station) and want to make it have silk touch DO NOT add a silky jewel. Most people know about adding a silky jewel to get silk touch ability on tinker's tools.. but that drastically reduces mining speed. It's better to make one of the parts from sponge, which gives the squeaky material trait WITHOUT reducing the tool's mining speed. An Iron Pickaxe Head, with a Sponge Binding, and a Bronze Tool Rod makes a good "starter" pick with silk touch. In most packs, sponge isn't readily available in the early game, but in this pack you can buy it from the EMC Table.

Just a quick tip, when you are in the quest tab, you can hover over the item in the quest info and press ‘r’ to bring up its recipe in JEI, and you can also press ‘u’ to see it’s uses in other receipts. Very useful
