52 hrs on Amtrak Sleeper Train - Chicago to San Francisco

Fun and beautiful scenery. My son and I did overnight from New Orleans to Chicago in a roomette. It was much smaller than expected, had we known we would have had two roomettes across aisle from each other. It was fun tho, we enjoyed the whole of it and the two days in Chicago. Thanks for your video.

What is important to remember, is how important it is to take time and respect the earth, that is always pushing to support the treatment we're doing to it consistently! I'd actually love to do this from Maine all the way to California!

The Creston Iowa stop must have been at night. I lived in Iowa and a friend lived across from the train station, It was always exciting to see the California Zephyr stopping. it is a gynormous train

I took a 5 day Amtrak ride from Florida to Oregon sitting in coach. Long trip and it was in 95, before smartphones and tablets. I almost got left in Long Beach, CA.

A superb trip. I would be tempted to stay in the observation car for hours. But I would probably fall asleep. Trains do that to me.

I did this trip a few years ago and it was one of the best experiences. Going to do it again one of these days.

I’m a train guy. And always will be. But you make this journey look a lot more glamorous than it is and you actually liked the food! I usually take coach, and I will tell you that after about 12 hours the bathrooms become incredibly filthy! But having said this I’m still a train guy and thankful that the Amtrak service exists. But this country certainly could use an improvement in passenger rail service. I.E. Bullet Trains. Why we’re so behind other first world countries in trains I don’t know. I can only guess it must be the airlines feeling threatened and blocking the advancement of a good rail system here. I enjoyed your video. It was interesting to see the British perspective of our rail system. Especially since you have such a good one yourself.

Funny Thought: The roast chicken actually looked good...until it came to fava beans. After watching Anthony Hopkins Hannibal series I get chills when someone says fava beans. "I ate his liver with some fava beans". I also can't watch Anthony in any other movies. I was scared for life after those movies.

I'm a bit of a germaphobe but this train doesn't look as clean as other train videos you have done. It seems more like a dirty city bus.
